Dream On and Respect a good 1-2 punch?
« on: January 29, 2015, 01:11:06 PM »
Looking to buy 2 new balls and I have heard great things about Global 900. Hoping to start out the night with the Dream On and then ball down to the Respect when the lanes transition. Nothing bothers me more then carrying 2 balls that give me basically the same look. From everything I have read these 2 balls should really compliment each other well. Looking for someone who has thrown 1 or both of these balls. Going out to El Paso soon and want to be prepared for anything they throw at us. Was also looking at the Guru but not sure how much use the ball would get. Thanks guys.

I have just punched up my new 900 global balls today. Hopefully I will get a chance to test them out tonight or tomorrow. As my take from just looking at cores and covers, I do believe they could be a good 1-2 punch. I would just make sure to drill the respect just a tad weaker to make sure it does make it a compliment. Others who have thrown the Respect say it is strong for a shiny ball. Once I throw them, I can give you a better idea on how they roll.

Don't forget about the Break Down also for a good go-to-ball in the later games

ryguy, I had a chance to throw the new stuff and get some looks and ideas of where the line is at. I did forget that my respect is on back order as the demand is high for them right now. The Dream On is easily the most motion I have had out of a dull asymmetrical ball in a while. Wow does it hook and get around the corner. I drilled it with the pin above the bridge slightly over the middle finger. It's about 5 inches off of my axis with the mass bias at around 65 degrees. I can easily see the Respect being a great compliment to this ball. Once I punch that one I can give you a better idea, but the break down and All night compliment it great so I believe the respect will be great as well. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Honesly if you want something to start the night if it is for a THS the Respect is plenty of ball.  I would get that and then get a Breakdown for later in the night, the Breakdown is very controllable and will not over hook for you.
If you are looking for tournaments the Moxie and Respect are going to be a good 1-2 punch as the Moxie for me is a lot earlier read and the Respect is mostly a late midlane to backend read.

Thanks for the info. I pick up my Dream On tomorrow and will get to use it right away in a travel league. I guess the Respect is not going to be ready till next Tuesday. I actually might buy a 3rd Global 900 ball and get the Breakdown for a dry condition. Been using Storm for a long time but sometimes change is good. I am looking forward to seeing how it rolls. If Global 900 is good enough for Jack Jurek, they are good enough for me.

How about a Dream as a compliment for the Dream On? Respect is easily a go to ball to open the lanes up. Break Down is great for a fresh THS or burnt alleys. If I need some surface the Dream On or Moxie is ideal. Lots of options here, just have to decide what you want.

WOW!!  the Dream On is a hook monster. Used it yesterday and was very happy with the ball motion. Probably a little much for a THS but can't wait to take it to Nationals. Ball carries extremely well. Now I can't wait till the Respect comes in. I can see myself starting with Respect and either going up to the Dream On or down to the polished IQ Tour . Usually my dull balls tend to burn up in the back but not this ball. I can see myself going all Global 900 someday.

That's what we like to hear Ryguy. Like I said I was shocked at how much the dream on hooked for me. Glad you are seeing the same results. Please post once you get to try out the respect. Would love to hear how it rolls.
