Eagle Pearl
« on: November 18, 2015, 10:19:39 PM »
Over the past couple years, I've had several solid Eagles (Purple and black).  These have been one of my favorite balls, but I've always found them to be more of a medium type ball.  Easy length and lots of backend.

A couple weeks ago, I had a chance to pick up an Eagle pearl.  I plugged it up and drilled it 50X4.5X40.  I took the surface to ~3500 grit (orange Trizact) and snake oil polish.

What an awesome looking ball.  The black/grey polished pearl is great.  I quickly found out this isn't just a pearl version of the Black Eagle.  This cover is strong!
I'm getting significantly more mid-lane than I had ever seen with the solids...  Once the ball begins to turn the corner, watch out!  Big backend reaction.  Definitely needs some oil to get down the lane.  Carry from deeper angles seems above average.  Sorry far, so good...hoping to get a few more games on it this weekend.

You accurately described the reaction of my Eagle pearl, until it cracked all the way around recently.  I miss that ball.  Good news is I still have my AMF Solar Flare.  Not the same kind of backend reaction, but a awesome ball in it's own right.

I'd totally buy an Eagle Pearl. Or a Black Ops Pearl if they made one... Hint hint

I agree.  I hope they bring out a Black Ops pearl sooner, rather than later.

S^2, what you've saw out of the older ones is a perfect example of why 1. This weight block is still around and 2. Why S70 is so good. In my bag currently, I have a War Eagle at 4000, Black Eagle at 2000, and Black Ops at Box. The BE at 2000 is pretty much insane, and I can ball down from there until I'm into 5th arrow with the Ops. S70 takes cover adjustments so well, and its not too strong.

The s70 and R2S are extremely similar if I might say so myself.
