Excited about Favorite
« on: November 27, 2010, 12:11:42 PM »
Just purchased a Favorite, seems like everyone is liking  this one!  Hope it fits in between my Bounty Hunter and Mars.  Currently using an old Amf Radar for ths and love it, but hope the Favorite can replace it.  Anyone tried several layouts on these?  Looking for smoothest layout possible

I drilled one of these at the beginning of the collegiate season and like this ball a lot. I kept it simple and just put the pin above my ring finger and stacked the cg. I did not want to go pin under and have it roll to much. This layout is very smooth and does not over-react on the backend which could be the reason I take it everywhere.

yeah i was debating a typical pin up or pin down. little nervous when it comes to pin up drillings as they become jumpy for me at the break.

Hey,

from my experience the Favorite has a lot more backend and less midlane than my Maniac had with a similar drilling. (Pin right next to the ring finger with 4 inch pin to pap. To smooth this one out, I would strongly recommend a pin down drilling with a medium sized weight hole below the center line.

see for me the pin up on my fav is much more readable than my pin down.  Pin down is now on the rack in the basement over the pin up.

THIS BALL IS AN AWESOME ALL AROUND BALL.. ITS GOOD FOR STRONG CONTINUOUS BACKEND AND ALSO DEPENDING ON DRILLINGS CAN BE USED ON MEDIUM TO HEAVY OIL CONDITIONS WITH A LITTLE SURFACE. I HAVE ONE THAT IS EXTREMELY STONG ON THE BACKEND AND ONE THAT IS REALLY REALLY SMOOTH AND CONTINUOUS.

I would say it's pending on how you throw the ball.  For me the pin up is much better than my pin down.  But the pin up for me is a stronger drill than my pin down was.7

Im in the 15ish mph at the break, medium track, 7 0 clock to 3 o clock release, lots of lift.  normally play 18 at arrows to around 10 at the break point

If I were going to drill you a Favorite I would place the pin under the ring finger with the cg kicked out about 1.5 inches from your midline, Not too much or it will kill the motion you are looking for..You should see a quite a bit of motion out of that and should score well with it!

I drilled mine up 45x4x45...So pin ended up in the ring finger hole and cg slightly kicked out. OMG all i can say is Smooth as butter. dosent cover many broads on the back but man its so predictable and easy to read carry is very very good.

Well finally got it drilled.  Ended up with pin up in between fingers no hole.  I wanted pin down but driller said that with the 4.5" pin the ball has he could only do pin up?? Sound true??  Anyway rolled a few games on a fresh house shot, so far I love it! Very consistant and has very good hitting power. Seems to fit into my lineup well, bounty hunter -> amf radar -> favorite -> Mars.
