Global now ok for ebay?
« on: March 05, 2008, 10:02:41 AM »
I see ace is going to carry Global gear now. Does this mean the no-internet(ebay) sale is over?

The Right Approach-Bowlers Pro Shop on ebay seems to think so.

Noone in my podunk town has asked about 900 Global or other good pieces like the Cell. I'm sort of shocked, more so about the Cell.

I think it boils down to intro-ing the ball to your customers, no marketing no sales, for a new company. Takes a bit of work on the Pro Shops behalf. It is easier to sell other older brands, but I like the smaller companies, better service IMO. To answer your question about sales, YES, I can say they sell very well and customer satisfaction it selling the ball for both the company and my shop. I couldn't be more pleased with the sales figures

I don't really understand their reasoning. I mean if they sell it to a distributor and get there money, why does it matter what they sell it for? Who builds a business and says, I'm not selling you my product because you might price it to competitivly? Its not a smart way to do business but maybe there are people who still care about others and ain't all about themselves and getting rich.

I know they are trying to help the proshops out but for us unfortunate people thats not rich can't just go out and buy expensive equipment from the proshop. I prefer used with decent layout and span thats close and I dont' even know if I could buy a used 900 Global. I want to buy the break pearl but I don't want to buy it new, luckly my friend got one traded to him and I atleast get to try it before I consider getting it new.

Most pro shops I know of,  are selling the Break and the Pearl for less money then the other highend balls.

Now as for how they are selling.  I would say very well.  Not as well as Hammer or Columbia or Ebonite,  but well.  But the key thing is,  Performance.
The feedback from the good bowlers is excellent!!!

Excellent feedback is a good thing!

I'm sorry but I don't see the problem is with 900g, I see the problem as the shop is not wanting to try something new, or doesn't want to take the time to pick up the phone to make a phone call. Some do some don't, if you're a customer make your voice heard with the shop owner, if he is not willing then take your business elsewhere, then he will get the message. There are more than one side to a coin, try looking from another perspective.

I would say that 900 global is not around my area at all, no one here has heard of them and no one wants to give a company a chance that they have never heard of.
I am trying to get my pro shop here to give them a try, but who knows as the pro shop is already taking a chance on AMF Codes right now.  No one here throws AMF either, so trying to get the name out here

back to the topic please, are distributors now going to carry these? what happens to the faithful shops now?

Well I consider my shop to be one of the "faithfull"

And I would love it if my dist.  carried these balls.

It would be much easier for me to get them, and faster.

Yes it might cost me a few dollars more.

Not a problem,  well worth it!!!

Now at the moment,  the two dist. that may start carring the balls, are not dist. that I deal with.  So I will still have to get them from Global.
But hopefully my dist. will pick up the line.

the performance might be really good, but for one or a few people to say that is not going to get this ball company going.  Where I am here in Oklahoma city there are tons of bowlers who only go to the pro shop to buy and get there balls drilled, therefore no one around here is ever going to buy a 900 global bowling ball unless there are either a few people throwing them and doing really good or the pro shop gets some in on the shelves.

Dad was told that they could still buy direct.  I guess for right now, there will only be a few distributors handling their line.  He is hoping that our distributor will get on board and handle their product. If that happens, we will buy from them.  If not,  I guess we will still buy direct from Global untill something changes.
