« on: January 24, 2013, 02:49:03 PM »
Hey global fans i was trying to not take 6 balls to a ths league any more so i was wondering what you guys r using at the end of the night was thinking of geting a hook but don't know what one to get was thinking of the black pearl and take the cover to 4000 to smooth it out but now there is a green and black solid at 4000 do you think it will be much stronger. Thanks for the help guys.

BullWhip but I do like to cover the boards late. I know its not 900, it is just their other company. This special edition is something special for sure.

FYI The Blue/Blue pearl comes 4000 grit stock.

A 4000 grit solid is likely to be earlier and handle slightly more oil than 4000 grit pearl, but it may or may not hook more. Too many dependencies.

Side note: When BJI first tested them, the dull pearl got a total hook rating of 50 and the polished solid got a total hook rating of 49, maybe 48 (If I remember correctly and it helps at all).

The Blue/Yellow Hook is already one of my favorites for a typical house shot. It packs a lot of punch from inside or outside angles.

One question... no one has asked you what it is you're using now in league. What is it you're using that you need to ball down from?

The two i have been throwing the most are my pin up over ring train at 4000 polished and my hype pin down under bridge at box need somthing under the hype its stronger than i thought it would be.

So you need a ball down from the Hype... that's going to be a little tougher.

Hype is 2.54 with 0.051 diff with a F45 cover, and the Hooks are 2.55 with 0.046 diff and a S43 cover.

Not knowing the layout on the Hype (How far "pin down under bridge" is from your pap), I can't for sure say that a Hook is going to work as a ball down. If the Hype is drilled pretty strong, then you may be able to use a Hook with the surface tamed way down or a short pin to pap to smooth out the reaction. Otherwise, you might try to find something like a Link or Smoke to ball down to.

you can put any of them in your bag and you wont be disappointed at all :)
If you want it, go after it and make it happen.  If you don't, you have no one to blame but yourself....or maybe your just not throwing the right equipment  :)

Ya i had no idea how strong that hype would be i had drilled strong mistake on my part but i do like it its a bit too much for what im seeing at the end of the night and im a bit heavy handed. my bald roller recommended 1 of the hooks because another guy on our men's league has had good success with his but I have a lot more revs than he does so i just dont want to get another ball that will be too much.

Can we get your stats? That would make this less of a guessing game.
