Weird that it is listed for flare of 4"-5" with no asterisk next to the 14lbs weight.

Yeah, I wonder. Maybe with a very strong drilling, Nah! but a weight hole isn't going to affect much of that core. :) :(:( I think 4" of flare is a stretch of believability with that much differential (RG & intermediate)

I'd be willing to bet drilled without a weight hole will bump up plenty. Didn't seem to be an issue for Hammer fans.

Weird that it is listed for flare of 4"-5" with no asterisk next to the 14lbs weight.

Maybe they used one of Mo's super special ultra mega supremely dynamic flare increasing drillings on it without putting an asterisk by that either.

Ball companies are marketing driven. The largest segment of the market won't know, or care, about the numbers, only that it is "cool".

Look, you obviously know a lot about bowling balls, so you know as well as I do what the numbers say about this one.

High rg and low diff = lower flare potential.
Polished pearlized cover = less friction.
Lower flare potential + less friction = length

Backend depends on the oil pattern and the covers response to friction. Could be a house shot champ, or a skid/flip nightmare.

I HAVE NO GRIPE AGAINST 900 GLOBAL, or any other ball company anymore. They only sell because people buy, and plenty of people will buy this one.

If the numbers didn't scare me so much, I might be inclined to try one, but I don't need another ball with these specs. I have several, and I know what they do.........

Every release is a must have in your bag. Just ask any manufacturer.

Just an update. This ball is shell and core. No filler. Explains the numbers being drastically different.

Why did they decide to leave the 14 lb core dynamics so low is all I want to know.

If the ball is lighter then wouldn't the extra dynamics come from the bowler?
The harder I try the harder they fall

I would imagine that the reason is since there is no filler, that the core modification is the only way they could change ball weight. If I'm looking at the Quantums correctly, the rgs are much different while keeping the same diff. Am i reading it correctly?

This may be a no filler/all coverstock ball. Would explain the big differences in numbers between the weights.

Tootin' my own horn!  ;D Not that there was any other answer that would have made sense.

This ball looks really interesting though. Has the S71 coverstock been used in the past? None of the current options have it and my knowledge of previous 900 Global products is severely lacking.

If I buy a new ball at full price this season it's more than likely going to be something 900 Global. The Honey Badger is at the top of the list. No filler, a weight block that should let the ball get down the lane easier, and gold pearl coverstock? Sign me up.

I don't remember any ball using S71.

Also, remember, Pearl Ninja SE is coming too.

The discontuined list is impressive too. Inception, truth solid, X, Infrared, Spec Ops, pearl boost and compass have been cut, along with the nighthawk se, escape and great escape.

Always wanted a Great Escape. Man that is a lot cut from the lines. I figured one of the OPs  was gone, so the Black ops is still a good seller it appears..

I don't agree with the X, but the rest I could see. New inception along with the Covert Ops makes sense. I'm looking forward to a pearl Ninja SE.

Wow I'm shocked that they're cutting so many. The X is definitely surprising.
