Inception Redux (What I see so far)
« on: April 12, 2017, 11:02:23 AM »
Hey Everyone,
So far I have been throwing the Redux for about a month so far. I have mine drilled with the pin about 1.5 inches over my middle finger and the mass bias about a 1/4 inch right of my thumb. This puts the pin about 5.25 inches from my axis. This layout is one of my favorites as the big cover and big core bowling balls of course read much quicker for me. For me the Inception line so far has been perfect in replacing and in my opinion making the Dream line better. The Redux is an interesting formulation as the cover is super strong (the strongest 900 Global has used). The core numbers have changed from the original core in the Inception Solid & Pearl. So far for the fresh, this ball is absolute money. I can move left and still get it to tip, but the strength of the cover and core does have its limitations as they break down. The ball reminds me of the Dream On, but I feel like the Redux is stronger through the mid lane, which does limit how much I can move left with it and still get out weak 10 pins. When this happens, I just ball down to something cleaner and it takes care of the problem. The Redux also for me covers more boards than the Inception Solid due to the higher RG and stronger down lane motion. If you have a Dream On and you are looking to replace it or you are in the market for a new heavy oil/fresh option, the Redux is no doubt the answer. 900 Global literally has an option for every bowler. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me or send a message. I will answer them as soon as possible.

Boy does that ball hit another gear downlane in this video, especially when the guys are throwing it!:

Wonder what pattern they are bowling on and what the volume is?  Anyone?

I haven't thrown any of the Inceptions, but this one has me a bit puzzled. So I get the Inceptions are a Dream within a Dream (stay with me), and I liked the look of both the Solid and the Pearl, but the redux just feels.. weird to me. Feels like too much cover for the ball. Maybe I just can't put my On down, but I rarely need more cover.

Am I just being a curmudgeon?

I hope you pick up the Inception Pearl! I wanted a Dream for the longest. Finally was going to pull the trigger on one but it was gone when I went back. Still looking, but I hear the Inception Pearl is worth it.

This is a tough one. The Inception line of course is here to replace the Dream line. But I feel as though they have improved over the Dream line. The Inception Solid has more continuation than the Dream Big Solid. The Inception Pearl is definitely cleaner and more angle down lane than the Dream Big Pearl. I didn't think they could make a better pearl asymmetric as I couldn't put down the DBP. The Redux for me fits a whole different motion and a different spot than the Dream On. The cover is stronger, the RG is higher and the diff is lower. I have it as a pinch more up front, with the same continuation. For some, that may be too much ball, for others it is just right. I would highly suggest if you know someone with one, give it a test.

If i still have a OG Dream and On still in the bag, is there enough separation to having both? Neither of the solid Inceptions look as sideways as my On is.

Only difference to me is the first 3 dreams were poured in Utah and these inceptions are poured in SA.

They're assymtricals... Essentially filling the same voids as the previous line.

From what I understand, this was Nick's version of a Dream weightblock, since Storm had a hand in the Identity core. That, plus they probably took a little bit of the Storm additive out of the cover (pure speculation though) which for.me, isn't a bad thing.

I'm a huge fan of the Inception Pearl and I too was skeptical of why such a strong cover but I drilled one exactly like my IP 5.5 from pap.  All I can say is wow...very pleased with the ball and what I was most surprised about was the deeper I moved the more it hooked without giving up any hit.  Also I think it looks pretty cool going down the lane.

This is completely Nick's design. I would say it is possible to have both a Dream On and an Inception Redux. I would just make sure to have the Redux as the stronger of the two. I truly believe the Adapter Core has been a fantastic design. Being able to have complimentary reactions from an Asymmetric version to a symmetric version is something that this core has created.

Billdozer, with the Inception line I see different shapes than the Dream line. I wouldn't put them as the main difference is just where they are poured. I do understand about stashing some Dream balls though. That line was very special.
