« on: January 21, 2012, 09:41:11 AM »
Black Eagle cover is listed @ 4000gt. Abralon.

What happened to the NEAT system?

The T in neaT is a finish of P4000 grit. It doesn't say Abralon.

The t pad is actually less surface than 4000.....according to the ra values. It's more in between polish and 4000. Not sure why 900 global even wrote 4000 on the ball description. I think they woul have been better off off using the a pad which is like p3000.

That's odd. I read somewhere else that the "T" pad was closer to P4500 grit.
Oh, well, it's in the same ball park.

We understand the equivelant NEAT to abralon conversion.

All 9G releases since the Bank Roll only listed the NEAT finish. Now the Black Eagle give the factory finish as 4000gt.

Some day we'll say. Remember the NEAT system......

The Black Eagle is a T pad.....They just put p4000 in parenthesis. Not sure why they did it. Probably to avoid confusion with people thinking it was a different ball than the purple Eagle??

As other people have pointed out, they list it as: Finish: NEAT (4,000 grit)

The analysis of the data indicates that the surface roughness Ra  created by the new technology of each “NEAT” pad is actually rougher  than it appears aesthetically.  For example, the “T” surface visually  looks like a medium compound/light polish has been applied to the ball  but in actuality the surface roughness Ra is almost that of a 4000 abralon surface due to no compound/polish impeding the pore structure.

Thanks for clarifying Eric. I looked on the website and it was closer to 4000 than I thought in ra value.
