Need ball stronger than Train, but which one?
« on: January 26, 2013, 05:42:20 PM »
I have a Train that I absolutely love!  But when the patterns get long or lots of carry down its seems to fall on its face.  I have my Train drilled pin below ring and on medium to med/heavy with clean backends its the best ball I have ever thrown!  So I am looking at several options- Freight Train, War Eagle, DV8 Brutal Nightmare, and Motiv 2Cruel.  Which would better fill the void above my Train?  Or any other ball suggestions as I normally throw 900/AMF but open to any.  Bowl mostly on ths with 16-17mph at the pins and prefer to square up and play more direct but can open up if need be.

Freight Train. War Eagle is a step below the Train.

I have the Freight Train with the pin below the ring and I think it works great on longer patterns and handles the carrydown pretty well...though I have to tweak the surface prep to an N pad when bowling on the soup. The OOB finish is great for the THS and everything but the extremes. If you loved your Train, you will like the Freight Train for more oil.

N pad? Seriously? Where do you guys find all of this oil? I can't even throw my Train at E pad. Geesh. :)

Yeah, I don't want to change the Trains surface.  I truly believe this centers guardian machine is jacked!  Tuesday I shoot 730s with the train playing straight down 10 and two days later in the same center this ball would not even start to face the pocket!  Just a week ago (same center) you could play as deep as you wanted with tons of recovery.  So in need of a strong backend ball because this isn't the first time this has happened.

Lol, I only had to use the N Pad once at a center where they didn't strip the backends other than that the E pad oob finish is more than enough!

I'm really liking my bullet train it's laid out the same as 1 of my trains and it is a step above i ball down to my train in 1 league and it right now is rolling just as good or better than anything I've ever thrown.

I was thinking of the bullet but thought it would be to similar to the original.

The Bullet has a much stronger cover than the original Train, though the Train has a stronger core than the Bullet looking at the numbers.

I thought they used the same core but they may have changed the density of it.

Yes they raised the RG and lowered the Diff on the combustion core.

Honestly it  oneness on what look your most comfortable with me on longer pat e end and carry down it depends on the volume.....light long with carry down I'm thinking pin up dirty look pin at 4 inches away mas bias 3inches away small extra hole In the p 2 spot similar lay out on the war eagle will due also ...those shells will not been up but the diff I'd high enough where the last out will give you traction through the carry down .....now if it's long with carry down and heavy  Play straight pin at 3 1/2 cc at 2 pin down pin in and let it roll throw the high hard one trip those 4 pins lol well instill the track goes then go back to the war eagle or dirty look....
the desire to win is easy talent without discipline is mediocrity... ...
