new releases review from a NON staff MEMBER
« on: July 22, 2015, 01:21:08 PM »
I have been throwing 900 GLOBAL from many many years now and all I can say is, I love there equipment from there bottom line of balls all the way to there HIGH end with everything inbetween.  I have pretty much thrown every ball they have released in the U.S and there Overseas line as well with a exception of a couple of there lower end stuff because ive never bowled where I would need that weak of equipment.. as for there new releases  WOW  very impressive from top to bottom right now!!!!

Ball speed 18.5-19 MPH  PAP 4 1/4 over 3/4 down and I throw with out useing my thumb with 1 hand not 2  :)

Boo Yah!!!   a great ball to have in your bag on those really tough conditions where its hard to get lined up shot after shot.  ball rolls really smoth and its very perdictable down the lane for most bowlers throwing it.   A must ball to have in the bag thats for sure if you see tough conditions all the time.. drilled 25 X 4 1/2 X 20

Respect Pearl.  this ball flat out moves down lane.  this ball is very smooth going through the head oil and once it hits friction it grabs and never stops hooking till the ball runs out of lane..  it goes a few feet longer then the org. Respesct but it to can cover the boards with the best of balls.  not a bad choice to have in the bag if your looking for a ball with a ton of backend.. drilled 35 X 4 1/2 X 20

Black OPS..   this is a nother remake of there #1 seller of all time.  I could go on and on about how great this ball is but I wont waste anyones time telling you that this ball has been 1 of the top balls throwing in nationals for the last 5 years  that pretty much sums up how well this ball rolls.  it has a nice mid roll read and has a great continuious roll on the back end of the lane.   if you ever find yourself bowling nationals and your not sure what to throw, look no furture then this ball or another 1 with the S-70 cover with the break core.. its just a beast :)  drilled 35 X 4 X 30

Chemical X   they hit a home run with this ball for sure.  IM not a big fan of there lower series balls but this 1 I love.   This ball reads the mid lane with ease and has a great backend as well.  for this being a mid price ball with a roll of a high end ball you cant go wrong if you was to put this ball in your bag and im sure your honor score will come shortly after that.   best ball out there for its price point.. drilled 32 X 4 1/2 X 25

Dream BIG.  like they say  dream BIG or go home.  this ball is all that and them some.. if you see oil then this is a ball to have in the bag for sure.. reads the mid still very well even in heavy oil and once this ball hits friction it breaks lose and takes it punishment out on the pins with ease.   this ball is for heavier oil  ball still rolls well on mid oil too for those bowlers that dont see a ton of oil on There THS   this ball is will roll its best on sport conditions  and PBA patterns thats for sure.  this ball is a must ball to have in the bag if your looking for the WOW factor and big scores.. drilled 30 X 5 X 35

900 Global themselfs..  they have always raised the bar every time a new line comes out.  they have 1 of the best customer services in the bowling world.  there R & D has come a long ways in a short amount of time and I only see it getting better in the near future and down the road for the long haul....  they try to design there equipment to  cover just about every bowler out there and there styles of bowling.    If you haven't tried 900 global you have no idea what your missing.  Ive had more honor scores and have raised my avg. as well since i switched to them.  I think there 1 of the best companies out there and I will continue throwing them for many more years to come..  Id like to give a special thanks to Mr Eric thomas for getting me to join them back in 2008  and also a special thanks to TJ in sales and marketing for all the time he has giving me over the time he has been with 900 Global as well.  Thanks to everyone at 900 GLOBAL for everything they do for all the bowlers out there..   Now its time to get your hands on 1 of there new releases or even 1 or there older releases and see what you've been missing.. good luck   This is not a review from a 900 Global staff member.. just a loyal bowler to this company.. Thanks
If you want it, go after it and make it happen.  If you don't, you have no one to blame but yourself....or maybe your just not throwing the right equipment  :)

I tried the Network when they had the $99 seed ball special.  The ball never worked for me and I ended up throwing it away.

My Mom tried the Jewel.  She ended up giving it away as it never worked for her (constant corner pin leaves regardless of adjustments.)

Despite my less than favorable opinion of the brand, I have been toying with the idea of getting the BlackOps.

I loved the network  and my wife loves her Jewel, the  Black ops would be a good chioce if your willing to give them a 2nd chance, have yet to see anyone not like that ball..  its not like every balls gunna fit everyones game  there will be a few im sure that you or someone else wont like more than others.. its happens  welcome to the bowling world.  lol  I  wasnt a big fan of the Grip /IT  either Look ball  the hard drive or the freight train  you just move on to another ball :)  they have many to pick from thats for sure...  good luck in what every you decide

But I don't want to lug around a six ball bag...

Milorafferty   they have some great 3 ball totes NOW that are much easier to move around then a 6 ball bag plus they are the new style that has the shoe compartment on top as well as well as a nother compartment and it just clips onto the totes and there very easy to remove if you only need 1 compartment if you have 2 totes.. I myself have 2 totes and a 2 ball shoulder bag I take with me most of the time and its not that bad at all.

Glad to see you are enjoying the new release S-70. Top to bottom these new releases for me each have a purpose. I have found really zero overlap in our line so far. I feel we have a reaction for every condition. Black Ops, Chemical X and Dream Big have been my favorites so far. I really can't say enough about these. Love to hear from different people the reactions they are getting from the new releases. Thanks for the reviews.

Thanks for posting this S-70.  I am really liking the Chemical X, Respect Pearl, and Dream big at this time.  This line up that we have out right now really does not have any overlap making it very easy to create a good line up for any condidtions

Sorry, but to play devil's advocate here, you say you aren't a staff member in your title...but your first sentence you state you " have been throwing 900 GLOBAL from many many years now and all I can say is, I love there equipment from there bottom line of balls all the way to there HIGH end with everything inbetween". So while maybe you aren't officially on staff, your first sentence negates any possibility that you will give a true fair review of the product. You are as much a shill for 900Global as any staffer.

That being said, I have nothing against 900 Global or their equipment. I have thrown their products in the past and will probably do so again in the future. It's just the title of this is very misleading and as we have found out in the past, a true unbiased review is very very hard to come by.

If all you throw is 900 Global then how is a potential customer suppose to interpret your comments?  A ball may be good, but without something to reference it against then what you say is somewhat meaningless.

Like my grandpa who loved Ford trucks.  Never owned anything else and swore they were the best trucks on the planet.  He never drove a Chevy or Dodge so how is someone else suppose to believe that Fords were in fact better when that is all you know?

BINGO!!!!^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ What he said! Thanks spmcgivern!! After the poster's first sentence, I didn't even bother reading any comments about other 900 Global balls since I knew they would all be favorable, and give me zero real useful, information.

When you're throwing one company, most reviews will be positive because companies try to fill gaps. 900 Global is very good at that.

However, there are posts from all company fanboys (myself included) that tout every ball as great. Am I going to disagree about what he said? No, as the pieces he listed look really good on paper. Would I buy something based off of what he said? No, and since his cred is already damaged by never saying a ball was a bad matchup for him, it doesn't really help anything.

When you compare the Respect Pearl to the Respect, it is maybe a 2 to 3 board difference. Does that warrant me running out and getting the Pearl? I don't think so. Booyah looks very good, who can go wrong with the Black Ops, and Dream Big looks very aggressive.

However, the constant lovefest doesn't help sales. In fact, by not being subjective, even when only throwing one company, you can actually turn people off because they can't tell the difference between what's good and bad. I've thrown 900 Global and AMF since the Break, and I can tell you that not every ball matched up for me. I didn't match up with the Bounty, or Train series, or the All Day, or the Dream, and I'll be honest. Doesn't mean they're not great releases, but they didn't match up for me. People will find that more of a selling point if you're honest.

You guys might have noticed that I have been looking at Motiv for a new look in my bag. Would have never thought that I would have said that a year ago, but the company has taken a turn that doesn't match up with my game, so it's time for me to take a peek outside of San Antonio for the first time in over a decade. Their staffers are pretty honest, and the release schedule isn't nuts. I respect that (No pun intended).

As a 900 Global mainstay, the reviews that made the brand look stupid ticked me off. I discussed this with Eric a long time ago, but since Eric is no longer with 900 Global, it doesn't really matter. It's a shame.
