new releases review from a NON staff MEMBER
« on: July 22, 2015, 01:21:08 PM »
I have been throwing 900 GLOBAL from many many years now and all I can say is, I love there equipment from there bottom line of balls all the way to there HIGH end with everything inbetween.  I have pretty much thrown every ball they have released in the U.S and there Overseas line as well with a exception of a couple of there lower end stuff because ive never bowled where I would need that weak of equipment.. as for there new releases  WOW  very impressive from top to bottom right now!!!!

Ball speed 18.5-19 MPH  PAP 4 1/4 over 3/4 down and I throw with out useing my thumb with 1 hand not 2  :)

Boo Yah!!!   a great ball to have in your bag on those really tough conditions where its hard to get lined up shot after shot.  ball rolls really smoth and its very perdictable down the lane for most bowlers throwing it.   A must ball to have in the bag thats for sure if you see tough conditions all the time.. drilled 25 X 4 1/2 X 20

Respect Pearl.  this ball flat out moves down lane.  this ball is very smooth going through the head oil and once it hits friction it grabs and never stops hooking till the ball runs out of lane..  it goes a few feet longer then the org. Respesct but it to can cover the boards with the best of balls.  not a bad choice to have in the bag if your looking for a ball with a ton of backend.. drilled 35 X 4 1/2 X 20

Black OPS..   this is a nother remake of there #1 seller of all time.  I could go on and on about how great this ball is but I wont waste anyones time telling you that this ball has been 1 of the top balls throwing in nationals for the last 5 years  that pretty much sums up how well this ball rolls.  it has a nice mid roll read and has a great continuious roll on the back end of the lane.   if you ever find yourself bowling nationals and your not sure what to throw, look no furture then this ball or another 1 with the S-70 cover with the break core.. its just a beast :)  drilled 35 X 4 X 30

Chemical X   they hit a home run with this ball for sure.  IM not a big fan of there lower series balls but this 1 I love.   This ball reads the mid lane with ease and has a great backend as well.  for this being a mid price ball with a roll of a high end ball you cant go wrong if you was to put this ball in your bag and im sure your honor score will come shortly after that.   best ball out there for its price point.. drilled 32 X 4 1/2 X 25

Dream BIG.  like they say  dream BIG or go home.  this ball is all that and them some.. if you see oil then this is a ball to have in the bag for sure.. reads the mid still very well even in heavy oil and once this ball hits friction it breaks lose and takes it punishment out on the pins with ease.   this ball is for heavier oil  ball still rolls well on mid oil too for those bowlers that dont see a ton of oil on There THS   this ball is will roll its best on sport conditions  and PBA patterns thats for sure.  this ball is a must ball to have in the bag if your looking for the WOW factor and big scores.. drilled 30 X 5 X 35

900 Global themselfs..  they have always raised the bar every time a new line comes out.  they have 1 of the best customer services in the bowling world.  there R & D has come a long ways in a short amount of time and I only see it getting better in the near future and down the road for the long haul....  they try to design there equipment to  cover just about every bowler out there and there styles of bowling.    If you haven't tried 900 global you have no idea what your missing.  Ive had more honor scores and have raised my avg. as well since i switched to them.  I think there 1 of the best companies out there and I will continue throwing them for many more years to come..  Id like to give a special thanks to Mr Eric thomas for getting me to join them back in 2008  and also a special thanks to TJ in sales and marketing for all the time he has giving me over the time he has been with 900 Global as well.  Thanks to everyone at 900 GLOBAL for everything they do for all the bowlers out there..   Now its time to get your hands on 1 of there new releases or even 1 or there older releases and see what you've been missing.. good luck   This is not a review from a 900 Global staff member.. just a loyal bowler to this company.. Thanks
If you want it, go after it and make it happen.  If you don't, you have no one to blame but yourself....or maybe your just not throwing the right equipment  :)

Why is a review "better" if you have 5 balls from 5 different companies in your bag?

To be honest, it doesn't make it better.  But one has to think about who the review is geared toward.  If the review is aimed at the non-900 Global bowler, what do they want to hear?  They want to hear how the 900 Global ball is better than the ball they have.  Convince the Crux owner to get a Dream Big.  Convince me the Boo-Ya is better than a Venom Shock.

Or maybe the review is intended to get the 900 Global die-hard to get the ball.  Explain how the Chemical X is the perfect complement or step down from the Boo-Ya.  Or how the Black Ops complements the Dream Big on heavier shots.

And above all else, at least have a statement about the limitations you have seen with the ball.  This should be mandatory!

Either way, there is a better way to explain and describe the way a ball performs for the reviewer.  And after all of the bickering and complaining people have done about crappy ball reviews (which this person acknowledges by the title) don't do the exact same thing as a "bad" staffer.

Wait, I need to jump in here., although I should know better. First, can someone PLEASE get the OP a spelling and grammar checker... PLEASE.

As to reviews... Yes, most if not all are crappy. Most if not all are done by shills in one way or another. No ball is perfect, but on the other hand it's possibly true that all balls have a niche. So point it out. Having said that, how many times have all of us seen that flaws in a ball are pointed out ONLY when the next ball that corrects that flaw is released for sale? Then the truth is known.

This guy is a fanboy and a half. Everything perfect, everything great, and thank you to the wonderful humans at 900G for all the help they have given me...  Sigh.

Good grief, unbiased? objective? huh?

I guess because ive been throwing 900 global for many years I guess in your mind that makes me a staff memeber   wow  I learned  something new today... thanks again   Jorge300 for informing me that IM on 900 globals staff now..

Besides a spelling and grammar check, you also need to learn how to read. I never said you were a staffer, but that your review is just as bad as the "bad staffer" review who says every ball is amazing and great and can't say anything bad about it. You are not unbiased and each ball may suck, but you would never say it. While I doubt that is true, how would anyone know based on the BS you spewed in this post. Go to the 11th Frame and read Riggs reviews. He is always honest. Not every ball matches up to his game, he admits it, and then details what type of player he thinks the ball would work for. simple and honest. Plus you make statements that aren't based in fact....show me how many Eagle winners or top 10 cashers used the predecessor of Black Ops since you made the statement that it is one of the top balls at the USBC Open. Can you? Will you? Posts like this do more harm then good for the company you propose to love so much.

Now onto a few others, while it may be helpful to compare balls to other companies products, if you can't, it's not 100% necessary. I think Impending Doom has it right. Show me honest. Now maybe, by some act of God, every single ball is great for you (something I have never ever seen), the discuss the limits of the ball. In this example talk about how the Boo Yah! doesn't work on heavy or long patterns, etc.. Based on this review, the Boo Yah! is great for every tough pattern regardless of length or volume....something which is 100% not true based on what I know of this ball. I think, and this is JMHO, all people want is honesty. Tell me the truth about a ball. Since 99% of bowlers don't throw the ball like the reviewer of any ball, you can't know for sure if a ball will work for you based on any one's testimony. But if you are honest and tell on what shots the ball did or didn't work, what you really saw in the reaction on those shots, and then most competent bowler's can decide if they want to give that ball a try. All reviews like this one tell you is that the balls work great in Fantasy Land or Never Never Land, or whatever alternate reality the OP is living in.

This thread is why I would never submit a ball review here. We are all a bunch of vultures waiting to pounce on the poor sole who dares to give us the chance.

Your right Milo.  In hindsight, we can be extremely critical of people who are truly trying to be helpful.  I have been criticized before for information I have posted and deep down it did bother me to some extent.

To the OP.  I hope nothing here has deterred you from trying to post future ball reviews.  Just like anything else, you are not going to make everyone happy.  People have been bashing ball reviews on this site since day one.  One can do a search and see complaints back to 2003.  Just take whatever you want from this and move on.  Don't dwell on the negative.  In the meantime, I will personally try not to be so critical.

At Senior Masters I've seen the Black Ops in numerous players hands.
So the ball must be user friendly.
Different styles and lines were being used.
free agency it is until i get a better offer.   LMAO

Just a heads up. Chemical X is not a step down from the Boo-Yah. The Boo-Yah is a urethane ball that will match up best on short patterns on when a THS gets really wet/dry. It is mostly a condition specific ball. Chemical X is easily stronger. The Dream Big has one of the strongest covers I have ever thrown. The biggest and maybe only limitation the Dream Big has is when there isn't enough oil. It will make it look like the ball doesn't hook. It will burn up. The Black Ops compliments the Dream Big because it has a big asymmetric core, but a weaker shiny cover. This allows you to use the Black Ops when you still need an asymmetric reaction but with a way cleaner ball motion. Let's not forget the Black Ops is selling in our Mid Price point. The Respect pearl for me is about a 5 board difference, but way cleaner through the front. I actually find the ball motion to be smoother than the original Respect because they lowered the diff on the ball. So for me it fills a spot in the bag, and doesn't overlap the Black Ops. Just wanted to give you a little information. Only ball so far, that is more condition specific other than the Boo-Yah is the Break Down. The Break Down for me on the right condition will strike for days. I have I believe 3 or 4 800s and 300s with it. But put it on a THS that has a ton of hold, it will flat 10 on me or 2 pin, because 9 out of 10 misses for my style will be left. Let me know if you have any questions. I will be glad to answer any of them.

And Curt, there in lies the issue.  No where in the Non-Staffer review was it mentioned the Boo-Ya was urethane.  Nor did the review identify the types of conditions it was meant for.  2/3 of your paragraph gave more information than the entire post by the OP.

I do hope the OP continues providing information in the future.  It is great when a manufacturer has such devoted consumers that purchase most of the equipment they sell, then post how successful it is for them.  I just hope the information provided is more useful.

I do understand that. I am sure the review was there to state how much he/she liked the reactions they are seeing out of the new equipment. As I said, you can PM me or ask any questions about our equipment or any other equipment for that matter. I do drill other stuff for bowlers/staffers. I can compare a lot of our equipment to other companies. 900 Global has a really well rounded line up that I am not sure can be beat right now.

Haha off topic but you made me reread the op post and look at the spelling and grammar errors. Not gonna lie I giggled.
