The Protocol is a great looking ball with a nice, smooth, polished surface. Works great for any bowlers on medium-heavy patterns. This ball goes down the lane a little further, holding its energy and rolls up to the pocket without having to adjust much when the lanes start breaking down.  It is the go-to ball for most heavy house shots, as well as tournaments. As a down-and-in bowler with medium-fast ball speed, I began throwing around the second arrow and barely had to adjust as the lanes got drier.  Must have for any competitive bowler!

Likes:I drilled my Protocol pin up above bridge. This ball clears the heads really well with a strong backend reaction. This ball is little longer than my war eagle with a more angular motion on the back. I used on a wet-dry condition(42ft. house pattern) and had to play in around 20 but it will corner with the best of them. Great ball when you need to be able to create more angle down lane. Carry was great from deep inside because of the angles I could create. Thanks to 900Global for another Great bowling ball.

This ball is a beast in the oil!  I was amazed with how strong it was inside the lanes versus playing up the boards.  The S70 cover stock continues its amazing run with Global with another winner.  If you have lane conditions that tend to be a little wetter in the middle with back end, this is the ball for you. 
The first thing you will notice is how cleanly the Protocol clears the heads.  This is awesome when the ball unleashes all of it’s energy down lane.  I saw very little deflection so those nasty 7 and 10 pins seem to fall much easier with the Protocol.
The color combination will also open some eyes, as people will be asking you: “What is that awesome ball you are throwing?”
This is a ball you should pick up, for your league shots, and even for a lot of tournament conditions.  Global certainly established a new “Protocol” when it comes to bowling ball technology!

Wow!!!  What a ball. Clean through the front but always seams to pick up in the mids, even on heavier patterns.   Makes a nice move on the back from all angles with no wiggle.  One of my favorite global balls of all time.

If you are looking for a ball that just behaves the way you want it too and will kill the pins once it gets there. Check out the Protocol.

I have used this in a number of PBAX Shots as well as your typical House patterns and it has not disappointed me once. The ball is strong in the Mids and still has great continuation in the back of the lane. This has now become my first out of the bag ball as it will tell me everything that I need to know about the lane. Great ball for the strokers because of the read it gives you in the mid lane but the hitting power is what impresses me the most. In the first 6 games with this ball I only left 2 Ten Pins(I left more 8's and 9's then 10's).

If are struggling on the flatter type patterns this could be the best investment of your season. Give it a shot and you will not regret it.

Length: Strong Rolling ball that gives a strong backend reaction when you are on a longer, or heavier volume pattern.

Volume: My game places the Protocol as a heavier medium to heavy oil ball.

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): Best used on sport patterns that have more volume down lane. It goes back into the bag when the midlane has low volume.


COMMENTS: So far through my testing the Protocol is great on house patterns and on sport patterns. Those of you that liked the War Eagle will see similar reaction, just about 4 more boards of it.

Likes: One characteristic I often look for in a ball is how well it takes hand position changes and The Protocol responds well to hand position changes. In todays bowling world, ball are made so condition specific that hand position changes are often ignored by equipment.

Dislikes: I have not found good use for the protocol on lower volumes or when lanes are starting to burn in the mids.

I was truly impressed with the Protocol, I drilled the ball with a 5 x 4 layout and this ball just keeps coming. This ball keeps the pins low when it hits the pocket, regardless if you get the ball up in the oil pattern or just miss a little too wide outside. Great continuation!! This is a great core and coverstock combination. Only the extreme wet or dry patterns will keep this ball in your bag. And as far as sport patterns are concerned, just use a NEAT finishing system "e" pad and this ball will be useful on patterns such as scorpion and USBC open championships pattern. Leave it shiny and can use it on cheetah. This is the ball to buy.
