- Description: Double Clutch Pearl gives AMF a new look on the shelf as well as the lanes. The modified F-55 pearl cover allows the Double Clutch to produce length where its needed, and yet provide users with a predictable move off the dry that is not jerky or too angular. Aggressive pearl balls can produce over/under reactions when they are not paired core to cover properly. The Double Clutch Pearl is a perfect match.

(i have a high rev rate) On THS the Double Clutch Pearl does what it was designed to do. Very clean through the front and is one of the most calm reactive pearl bowling balls i have ever thrown and it hits the pocket with plenty of power. My pin is inside middle finger(drilled through it).
 
The first time I threw it I expected it to bounce off the dry like any other pearl ball but i was very wrong. The ball hit the friction and arched, when i say arch i mean i saw the ball change directions and roll toward the left. It gives bowlers a controllable back-end unlike most reactive pearl balls when they make contact with friction down lane. I can get this ball down lane even when i couldn't get other ball manufacturer's mid performance equipment down the lane, without throwing the ball any harder than normal. 
 
When the lanes are breaking down the Double Clutch Pearl is a great ball to have in the bag when you need to get the ball down the lane without giving up hitting power at the pocket.

Likes:great on medium to light volumes of oil

Dislikes: not the best in heavier volumes of oil

Ball is drilled pin up, mb kicked out right directly in line with thumb.  Not as strong as the solid but more aggressive.  Compliments the solid very well.  Seems to roll the best for me when the lanes start transitioning or when carrydown is a problem.  A very true rolling pearl not over/under or jumpy at all.  Unless you can generate some speed, ball doesnt match up very well on dries.  Ball loves medium ths.  The double clutch series are seriously underrated, more props to the global squad for producing some of the best pieces I have thrown!

Likes:This is the best in the AMF ball line,gets down the lane but has much potential for hook even on some oil.This is the ball you pull out of the bag in league or tournament action,you do not have to guess on when it will hook{easy to read and adjust}.


Dislikes: Heavy oil+dry lanes

Likes: LOVE the ball's smooth roll and consistent reaction.  This is the first ball out of the bag for me.  It is a lane reader, never overrecting to the pattern.  For a pearl it reacts more like a solid.  Keeps me farther right on the lane and lets me stay in the broken down track area longer.  Drilled 5" pin to PAP which is a good layout for my slower style (14-16mph).  I have issues with early hook and breakdown and this ball combats all of that for me.  Best ball from the Clutch line for me by far.  Has worked the best on Red pattern and Kegel Challenge patterns.  Good carry ball seems to always keep coming - hard arc reaction on the backend.  Tried it box finish and at 3000 abralon.  BOTH ways reaction was good and carry did not suffer in the duller state but it did give me an opportunity to throw it on heavier patterns.  Double Clutch Pearl  for me is a little eariler and less backend than Shedder and Longshot.  If your a slower style power stroker this is a great benchmark ball from AMF!



Dislikes: doesn't do well on heavier oil patterns/heavy carrydown.

Likes:This ball, when I first saw it and looked at the numbers on it. I figured it was skid/flip. So I drilled a 5x5 for myself. My pap is 5 15/16 x 5/16. My hand is kind of heavy. Once I started throwing it on different patterns, pba experience, houseshot. I realized that this ball is a benchmark ball for the AMF line. You can lay it out like I have and make it a little skidflippy, or you can drill it more aggressive and use it on a lot of fresh house shot or pba experience patterns(chameleon) for example. This is a great match of coverstock to core. I would say that like when you are using a favorite and the shape is a little flat. You can go to this ball with a similar drill and this core will give you a different look. For example I was bowling on chameleon with bank pearl with pin above finger,cg in grip and thumbhole drilled through mass bias. I started to lose my hit, the core/coverstock was using up and leaving flat tens. So I only shot 206 2nd game. After two more tenpins I switched to Double Clutch and shot 217 last game, missing a spare in the tenth. If I had of stayed with pearl, I would've probably shot 180. On house pattern with this layout it comes off dries real nice. Not as angular as longshot or shredder, but enough. I think this ball can be even used on fresh house patterns for guys with higher rev rates with a little more aggresive of a layout. This ball is definitely AMF's benchmark.


Dislikes: People with low rev rates wont be able to use ball on the fresh without altering coverstock and or aggresive drill pattern.

Likes:I have my Double Clutch Pearl with a 5x3 pin-up drilling. It is a very smooth rolling ball for a pearl.  It is a great ball up the track on dry conditions. It works great on shorter, dryer sport patterns. It is a great ball on broken down league shots.

Likes: I have used this ball for a while now. I find it shines on lighter volume patterns. It will not over react upon encountering friction. I have also found the ball to be useful for long periods when it is placed into use. It is smooth reacting and does not react like a typical pearl. I have used it on synthetics with a fresher Cheetah and well used Scorpion patterns. It responded well. I was even able to use it on burnt wood looking around 28-30 with a break at approx. 12. Ball made the turn easily on this condition, which was not something I expected out of it. I picked this up off ebay for next to nothing. If it was a dud, I was not going to be upset. I could not be happier that it is in my bag.
 
Dislikes: None at the moment.

Likes: Overall this ball is very controllable. It works best on medium oil lanes. I noticed once the lanes carry down, I will have to move my stance a bit. The ball does not over react very often. This is my starting out ball during league play. My shot is stroker from 2 to 3 arrow. The ball has good length and a controllable hook into the pocket.


Dislikes: When the lanes get dry, I have to move to my medium to light oil ball (Visionary New Breed Pearl).
