I have drilled three (3) of these balls and must say that I'm very impressed. I've drilled this ball 4 1/2 by 3 1/2, 5 by 5, and gosh even drilled one negative (by far my favorite one). This ball makes The One, the Action Packed, and the Absolute Inferno look so weak. Out of the three that I have drilled, NONE of them rolled out. The ball that I drilled negative was drilled right before the city tournament just past Saturday. I was running behind because I was busy at my shop and when I got there I had one ball in practice. I SHOT A 785 WITH TWO OPENS. I swear up and down that I have thrown and drilled a lot of bowling balls and the RADAR LOCK ranks among the highest with the '97 Track Heat and the original Brunswick Danger Zone. What ever doubts you have about AMF300, you better put them to the curb. THROW THIS BALL AND YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPPOINTED!!!

I had this ball drilled up in J&J Pro Shop of Durham by James Perkins. All I can say is WOW! I took it out on the lanes where a tournament was going on and I shot 289,236,224, for a 749 set.. came back with games of 300 & 290 all in the sameday. If you want a ball that hooks, but also controllable on the back, this is your ball. I almost forgot,I did win that Doubles Tournament and Singles with a 751.

I want to say thanks to Eric Williams at AMF for this ball, he was generous enough to send me one, i drilled this ball with the pin above the fingers and the cg kicked out a bit with a small hole, i used this ball on a fresh shot on synthetic lanes that are oiled 35 ft buffed to 40. I was able to stand about 35 and get the ball to about 10 and the ball made it back to the pocket with ease and carried very well, i didnt touch the balls surface but i must say this ball is very strong in the back and over all, i also must say it cleans the heads easily. Many people have put AMF aside and dont bother with trying their equipment, but i must say this is a great choice for a league bowler and cant wait for the nighthawk to come out, keep up the good work AMF.

Got my Lock to experiment with. I am struggling on a spotty wet/dry condition in my league. This house is constantly changing and there is always a lot of backend oil. Both my Radar and Power Drive just cannot continue to drive through the pocket with that thick stuff sitting in the backend.

I set up my lock with a 5x4 and a weight hole closer to the thumb. I wanted a 5x3 but was afraid that the ball wouldn't turn the corner hard enough. I left the cover in box condition, even though, I figured I would need some surface. The balls' reaction was good but it, like my other two balls, just couldn't make the corner soon enough. So after a dissapointing three league games, I took it down to 800 grit in hopes that that would give me the 2-3 ft. earlier move to stop leaving 7's and 9's. Will post again when I test the ball this monday.

I threw this ball in practice in league play only and there was to much oil for the OOB cover, By looking at the ball struggle I knew what it was trying to do and on that note I changed the surface w/ebonites matte finish. Took it back to the lanes this past friday to a different house and It was a new ball game, a surface change and this ball was money in the bank.

Mine is drilled label leverage; didn't expect to get the reaction I got out of an AMF ball which was a strong skid/roll type reaction. I was worried about playing deep and swinging it because it looks like the ball won't turn over but like DP3 said with multi-colored gear you can see what its going to do before it does it and he was right, the ball made the turn with a hard roll to the pins. Playing in the oil the lock will need a lower grit to do its thing; but in the dry OOB is perfect.

I haven't thrown AMF since the super scamp which was a super dissapointment for me but the Radar Lock has shown me that AMF has stepped there game up. The cover isn't "Bite" strong but its "Don't sleep on me" strong, just how I like it.

I just got this ball last night. I was very surprise to see how controllable is ball is. I was so shock my jaw Dropped. I was amazed to see that the ball would make the turn on heavy oil. The ball Hits harder than anything I have thrown. The  ball is amazing. I would recommend this ball to all that wanted a ball that will go long and make the corner. Its just the best ball I have ever seen. It doesn't roll it glides. Out Breaks my RSX but not my U-Turn particle.

Ball Spec's 15.2 2.5" pin 2.5 top.
My profile: power stroker, rt hand, 15-17mph

Bowled on AMF & Brunswick synthetics and overlays.

Drilling: 4 x 3 big wt hole, 2000 Abralon

The Radar Lock is one those balls that does not get enough credit!! This ball really performs on medium to oily lane conditions. I had a chance to drill one for a local tournament. I needed a ball that would rev and roll up hard. I didn't need a lot of skid or snap. I had a 3" pin and 2.5 top to work with. Drilled it goofy for my game and it worked to perfection! Almost a 12:00 pin down, cg real close to thumb and big hole in the lower quadrant. Took a dead 2000 Abralon pad to it. This ball really revs up and hard arc's to the pocket! Great carry on light mixers and heavy pocket hits! Averaged 225 for 10 games in an overlay house that does not produce high scores AND won the tourney! This is one of those balls that gets the job done, period. Reminds me of the Radar but with more roll and more overall hook. This is a must ball to blend out a tough condition!

I'm a stroker with probably enough revs to be called a tweener.

Got my Radar Lock drilled 4.25" pin-to-PAP with the CG kicked a little to the right, balance hole on the PAP.  I've been using it for almost a year now and would like to share my observations.

I tend to play a down-and-in shot, over 10 at the arrows.

I actually found the Radar Lock to be more speed-sensitive than I'd like.  My natural style is to throw around 17-18 MPH.  However, at that speed, the Lock just doesn't turn the corner soon enough when in the oil.  If I move right to find the dry boards on a THS, I got a lot of over/under.  If I stood left and swung it out to the right, the ball rolled out before it hit the pocket (lots of solid 8s and weak 10s).  If I stayed in the oil but slowed it down to 14-15 MPH, I had problems keeping the speed consistent because the backend is pretty violent.

But PLEASE NOTE:  I'm not blessed with a lot of axis rotation to take full advantage of the newer technology balls.  I really come up the back of the ball, so no matter what ball I choose, with my tweener rev rates, the balls run out of energy before they get down the lane (thus the over/under and rollout problems).  I averaged 220 for six years with a Storm Bolt and am searching for a ball that can help me get the necessary carry to get up to 230.  I just didn't find it here.

I do believe that someone with more axis rotation and a swinging cranker shot will really love this ball because it will retain the energy longer and hit like crazy.  Maybe an earlier-and-smoother rolling layout as well.
