What does A-M-F really stand for?
« on: March 12, 2004, 05:16:45 AM »
I know the have a slogan that says 'Always Means Fun' but I don't think that what those letters really stand for.

A buddy and I used to joke that it stood for "Average Moderate to Fair".  We even added a slogan..."expect nothing but mediocrity from AMF...at least!"

But seriously folks...what does that stand for, anyone know?

According to AMF employees I've talked to, it's either "Another Mal-Function" or "Ain't My Fault".

But it's really "American Machine & Foundry".

Thanks Mongo.

I forgot one of the jokes we used to have about that....Always Maybe Friday!  That was in reference to the fact that we never got our shipments on time.

Buddy of mine had a Black Angle back when they were fairly new.  If you recall, the original black Angles had the AMF block-letter logo above where the finger holes would be drilled.  So he was bowling league one night, and one of the bowlers on the opposing team mistook the logo for engraved initials.  Given that my buddy's initials aren't "AMF," the opposing bowler asked what the AMF stood for.  My buddy replied, "Awesome Mother F---er."

AM not A CHICK OF BOWLING but I wanted to be in Manda's clique And why would I "saw" pins in half, THATS A WASTE OF PINS! I'd rather blow it over with my storm, and 21mph ball speed on dry shots.
