need 10 1/2 but have wide foot should i go with an 11?

No, I wear an extra wide and use my standard shoe size.

Doubtful. I wear 10 1/2 EEEE on my New Balance tennis shoes and the 10 1/2's from 3G fit just fine. The kangaroo leather does stretch over time as well.

Then if you normally wear a D width should you go with at least a half size smaller than your usual shoe or dexter bowling shoes?
