« on: July 05, 2007, 03:17:37 AM »
Anyone who has had both of these shoes , which did you like better? I have a pair of SST 6's I am fixing to have to retire and am considering the Tour Ultras. Thank you

I only have the TUs, but I can tell you that they're excellent shoes.  I cannot imagine being disappointed with them.  They're very comfy.

I have had all of the above and currently have the Tour Ultras. The Dexter SSt-7 is heavier and not nearly as comfortable in my opinion. The wideness is the best part of the Dexter but the softness and comfort of the Tour Ultrs is unsurpassed in my opinion. Good luck with your decision.

I have the Tour Ultras and the SST 6 LX's.  The Tour Ultras are more comfortable and I have more slide options.  I could never find the combination of soles and heels that I liked with the Dexters.

If your are tough on shoes or drag your non slide toe go tour ultra's. For me they slide a lot more than my SST6's. I use both mostly on wood i use the SST6's and synthetic i use the TU's. I have never got real use to how light the TU's are compared with the dexters. Either and both have worked fine for me.

If your looking for longevity go with Dexters. Dyno's just don't last for me, had two pair rip on me in under a year, got the '07 sst7 fantastic!!!!

How long have you had the SST7s?  Over a year now?

Just curious.

I have had the opposite experience than shelley with my Tour Ultra's.

You're thinking of roundabout, not me.  I love my TUs.  They fit perfectly, they're soft and light.  I've seen the clunky-looking Dexters and they just look big and heavy.  Maybe they aren't when they're on your feet, I don't know, but they sure do look like you're wearing army boots.

Actually the shoes will be labeled 3G.  The balls are 900 Global.

I went from Dexter SST6 "E" width to the Tour Ultras. The TU are not available in wide width so for me they are a little snug, but my slide is sooooo much better than the Dexters.

I think the wide sole surface area of the Dexter was giving me problems.
