Finger Grips

Does anyone know of the best place, other than pro shops, where I can buy grips. I just can't see paying $2 bucks for one grip. My local shops have them for $6, so it is a savings, but still alot to spend.

$1.25 per grip shipped, if you order directly though BR (pba1g11), or $1.50 if you order on-line. I have purchased many grips and thumb slugs with no problem. Highly recommended.

This is one of the reasons why pro shops are in trouble.  The guy at my pro shop is selling inserts for $5 a pair, and people still want to complain that it's too expensive!  It's $5, not $1,000,000.  I went to bowlerschoice.com and entered in some data, and yeah you can get the grips for .99 each (a whole 1.50 per grip savings), but the standard shipping is $7.87.  What are you saving then?  I would rather pass the savings onto my proshop guy who does excellent service, I can drive to his shop, pick up grips anytime, and get expert advice on equipment for free!  If he is making a $3 profit on a set of grips, so be it, he sure is not making megabucks on balls nowadays with internet sales and such.  Plus, many pro shop guys I know will throw in the finger grips for free when they drill the ball for you.  I don't want to discourage people from trying to save money, and if it comes off that way I'm sorry I offended anyone.  But, I just look at this way: If you take care of your proshop guy, 99% of the time, he/she will take care of you.  I know that if I were running a proshop, and I punched out a ball for someone, and they said "here put these grips in I bought online, I do not want yours they are too pricy", I would be offended, and less likely to "go the extra mile" with advice for that customer next time.  Just something to think about, that's my .02.

I hear what your saying, but when local shops charge $6 per grip, its a little much. Plus I would rather put in my own grips than have the pro shop guy do it. I even asked if he would charge just $3 a grip. Nope. I tried, he didn't budge, so I'm looking elsewhere.

I didn't realize he was charging $6 PER GRIP!  That is a crazy price to pay per grip, I thought it was $6 a pair, sorry I misunderstood what you said earlier.  I just wanted people to realize that if you have a local guy who charges "fair" prices, then please support the local business, that's all.

I do not believe it is ridiculous for a pro shop to charge 5 dollars for a pair of grips.  You are paying for the service plus the grip, and if you were not to order an excess amount of grips you would not be saving all that much.  I change my grips every 2 months and I bowl about 6 games a week.  The proshops have to keep their revenues up otherwise they would be out of business since the Internet has offered so much more options with balls and such.  If you want to keep your local proshop open, just purchase from them its not that much more money.

the pro shop at palace pointe where i bowl at charges 15.00 for a set of grips.now thats a bit much.

I don't work for a pro shop, but I do know that it isn't just taking the grips out and throwing them in the ball and handing it back to you and you are on your merry way.  The pro shop operator takes time to remove the old grips, take the excessive glue and possibly part of the old grip out since you normally can't get a grip to cleanly come out.  Then, they install the new grips.  They make sure they are fitted properly in the ball( making them even with the ball and not looking like a hack job)and you think spending anything more than 5 bucks for grips is expensive?  Think of it this way, if you are of age and drink, for the cost of maybe a maximum of 4 beers that can be gone in less then 2-3 hours these grips will last you at least a month if not more.  Small price to pay for service.

That's who I bought my last shipment from.  Depending on the quantity you are going to purchase it comes down to him @ $0.99 each grip + $1.50 shipping and $0.10 for each additional grip, or pba1g11 @ $1.25 each.

I bought around 80 grips, so the shipping was a better deal from the ebay seller.

I noticed on the ebay auction that sale is for one size only (45/64). He says to go to his ebay store for other sizes.

Werd, I've bought allot of grips from Michael.  Great guy to deal with, and technically he is local to me..
