I need new shoes, suggestions?
« on: August 28, 2013, 04:36:21 PM »
I haven't bought shoes in 6 years.  I currently have a pair of Dynoroos.  I have had horrible luck with Dexter over the years, both my SST 5's and 6's only lasted me 2 years.  I know I loved the comfort of the Dexters but the durability of the Dynoroos/3G shoes.  Has Dexter stepped up their game?  And if so how are the SST Tanks?

Thanks!

I loved my SST8's except for the toe drag issue.  If you don't drag your push toe, then they should last for years.  I had to go with 3G Ultras.

I have the 3G tour ultras  --- most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. So far no issues, and I have had them since Feb. I was debating on some SST 8 when I was shopping, and was told by many that the 3G's were better. So I went with them, and I love them. Unless you are bowling in any PBA events I would go with the 3G tour Ultras, you will be satisfied.

This has always been my biggest issue.  Seems Dexters aren't for the toe draggers.  Guess its some 3G Tour Ultras for me.

Actually, because of a recent rule change by the PBA there is no longer a requirement for product registration for shoes on the regional level, only on the National Tour.  You can once again use your 3G shoes in regionals!

I've tried many shoes over the years and the 3G tour ultras will not do you wrong. My favorite part of the shoe is the interchangeable discs (not just slide pads) for my sliding foot.

Thanks for the thread. Looking for a new pair of shoes now also. I wish some of the big athletic manufactures would get into the bowling shoe market. Look at what they did for golf shoes. Lighter, more comfortable, and waaaaaaaay more stylish. Apparently there's no money in it or else they'd be doing it. Anyone ever hear of Adidas, Nike, Foot Joy, etc making a bowling shoe?

Back in the 80's, I owned a pair of Nike bowling shoes! Those were very comfortable and well made. Maybe it's not worth the effort for these big companies to make bowling shoes because of the decline in the interest of bowling, but if they do, I would take another look at it!  Especially some super light, super comfortable, and very colorful shoes!  I love the looks and comfort of Asics and Nike running shoes!

Good luck finding 3G's.  Most have been discontinued.  The rest are only available in limited sizes.
