Mid-Level shoes

Just getting into bowling, other than the occasional outing.  I joined a league. I got a ball, thanks to Dave's World of Bowling. And now I am tired of using rental shoes. Looking to get a mid-level shoe (less than $100).

I've been looking at the Dexter David and the Elite Platinum. The Dexter's look a little more comfortable while the Elites look more performance oriented, but I could be wrong.

Has anyone had experience with either of them? Other suggestions? Things to look for in a shoe?

I wear Dexter Davids and they are super comfortable.  Granted you can change the slide soles but for the price a very good shoe.

Here's a good deal on Storm SP-700s.  Granted they only come with the one sole (I believe), but you then have the option to add different soles.  No personal experience, but they look like they'd be very comfortable.

Due to health reasons and limited to time to bowl too much longer, I wanted a cheaper shoe under $100 and hopefully less than that, more like $50 or $60. I chose this shoe from Buddies Pro Shop for $54 and I am loving this shoe.

That is a good price. I don't know if Brunswick shoes are any good or better than Dexter, buy if they are, that is a really good price.

Sorry, I can't give you a comparison since I have never used any Dexters.  Previous shoes have been Lind's Exxxtras, 3G Tour Ultras and now TPU-X.  Exxtras were long wearing shoes but only had the puck system on the sole.  Tour Ultras were very comfortable but mine split on me as they did not come in Wide size, which is why I switched to the TPU-X.  TPU-X:  They are very comfortable too and both shoes have interchangeable soles and heels, so if you had an injury and had to change bowling hands, you could (if you bought the opposite side soles) change to the opposite side and not have to buy new shoes.  Only had them for about 18 months now, no problems so far.

Down to the Dexter's and the tpux. Going to be bowling in what now is 2 leagues both 16 weeks a week, at 2 different alleys.  Reviews on either?  Thoughts?

I got the TPUs over the summer, and so far so good.  Seem to hold up well.  While not "sneaker comfortable" they are certainly not uncomfortable; and I stand the whole time.  The shoes I had before were Etonic Tour Master.  They were more stiff for me and less comfortable.  For $95, the TPU is a solid choice and pretty good deal.

I picked up the Dexter Pro AM II's this season to replace my very old Dexter Ricky II's and I'm quite pleased. They're only $55, look good, feel good, and work well.

Do note that I only slide a few inches and these are not interchangeable soles. Thinking of getting the new Hammer Force shoes next though. I would like to check out the interchangeable soles at some point, they look awesome, and I hear they're comfortable.

Just so you know, Buddies does have the TPU-X on sale at $95 and for RHs they also have the white/black version.

You can convert it to LH but you would have to buy the sliding sole for the right shoe and a tacky/friction sole for the left shoe so it would end up costing more.

Thanks for all the help and advice.  I ended up getting the Storm SP-700, like snackster mentioned.  They are super comfortable thanks for the suggestions

Does anyone have any experience with the shoe?
