Team Brunswick Shoes
on: August 05, 2017, 04:00:42 PM
Hello all,
Has anybody used the new Team Brunswick high performance shoes? I am impressed by how much you get in the box for the money - 5 soles, 4 heels, accessories - and wanted your thoughts on comfort, fit, etc. I especially like that the shoes are made RH or LH as I don't like the thought of velcro soles/heels on my pushaway shoe.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I ordered a pair of the new Team Brunswick shoes and will report on them after trying them out.

Well, they ran a bit small for me so I'll report back after I get the replacement pair.

My 10.5 felt a tad snug at first, but after wearing them about 30 minutes they seemed to feel better as the leather conformed around my foot.   I'd say that anyone who is borderline between regular width and wide to try the wide.

The shoe is not as "cushy" as the TPU-X that I've worn for 3 years, but still comfortable, and the trade-off is that these give my foot more support.  My first guess is that these will actually be more durable where my others wore out (inside the heel).

I have to be honest, at first I was kinda neutral about them, but after the break-in I'm feeling optimistic.  All the heel and sole options in a zippered bag is a plus, and the free shoe cover is another perk.  They seem like a very good value.

After seeing this thread, and a post from Brunswick on facebook (to which I asked some questions), I think I'm going to go with these shoes to replace my Tanks. Honestly, they look like a more comfortable version of the Tanks. My concern is what size.

How snug is snug? My Tanks were really tight when I got them, especially one shoe. I had to snip the bands inside the shoe. Over time, they now comfortably fit. Brunswick replied to my post saying that they are soft up top and will break in well. I normally wear a 12 4E shoe. Most 12 wide sport shoes fit me, but some are tighter than others. The half size cut off always seems to be 11.5, and that seems to be the case here.

So the debate is 12 wide, 13 normal, or 13 wide (probably too big, but who knows). If they made 12.5 wide, I'd definitely go with those.

I would say that they run true to regular shoe size. I mistakenly ordered them small assuming they'd run large like my Dexter SST6'S, but that isn't the case. For my SST6'S I had to order a half size smaller.

How snug is snug?

Barely noticeable for me. They went on with zero extra effort. The length was also consistent with nearly every 10.5 I've ever worn.   I have no expertise, however, regarding the wide width.

OK, I tried these again and they're still a bit snug, but more so from side-to-side. I ordered the Wide size. I am going to go ahead and keep these and wear thinner socks until they loosen up a bit. I will test them today at the bowling alley and report back if any issues.

p.s. I finally opened the soles bag and the Number 8 sole is leather, not that damn microfiber like I had on the Dexters. Nice!!

OK, so now I've used these shoes in a couple of houses and I think they're really good. After I tried using the Leather Heel (don't know the number but it's burnt orange color) then I got a perfect slide every time as rubber heels tend to be too grabby for me. Also, most of the slide soles are real leather along with one microfiber sole and one felt sole. The quality of the materials is very good. I think these shoes are a great value for the money.
