Author Topic: Turbo Fitting Tape Reviews? (Read 4476 times)

I am interested in trying a product like Turbo's fitting tape because I am tired of screwing around with changing tape in my thumb hole all night due to my thumbs magical ability to shrink and expand rapidly.

I was wondering if anyone else has tried them before? Specifically, if I wanted to use it on the back of my thumb, would I be better off with the Turbo coarse green tape or the semi-coarse beige fitting tape?

I've tried most of the skin protection tapes. IMO Turbo's beige is better than Vise's and Ebonite's colored tapes as far as sticking to my thumb. I still think the best, and many customers agree, is Vise's beige (TT-whatever)

If U have a problem with your fingers expanding or shrinking, U should try Turbo's Switch Grip System..

I use both the Switch Grip System and Turbo's Finger Tapes..

I use the tapes because i have very moist fingers.. And they give me the same feel everytime.. I've tried Ebonite, Vise, Brunswick, ABS and some other brands, that i can't remember right now.. There isn't the biggest of differences in coarseness(is that a word? lol..) But I definetely prefer Turbo.. For me, they stick better to my fingers than any of the other brands..

Yep, that's it. It has Japanese letting inside and says Nichiban. It just seems to cut and stick the best. Other tapes fall off from sweat or fray real bad when cut. I would ask the Pro Shop manager if they would order it, it's worth it. Turbo beige isn't that bad if its all you can find.

A trick i learned from a swedish friend of mine..

If your fitting tape won't stick because of moisture, put some clear skin, without any patches, on the area on your finger that U want to cover/protect.. That will keep the moisture away, and the tape will stick better and stay on your finger throughout your entire set..

I can bowl for hours without worrying about it peeling off..

I use both the Green and Beige Tape from Turbo..

I could be mistaken, but I think ABS makes turbo's tape. My roll of turbo tape says ABS inside.

I think they used too.. I think Turbo makes their own now.. But i don't know for sure..

I've had Turbo tapes which said ABS on the inside.. But i've also had tapes that says Turbo.. I can try to take some pics off them.. I have both.. And i haven't seen the ABS ones in a while.. I have almost a half roll of a ABS one, that i stopped using..

And the best, for me, have been the ones saying Turbo.. The ABS ones peeled off too easy..

i agree. one order we got said turbo, one said ABS. I haven't had problems with either, but customers love TT-25 and ask for that stuff the most.

I have been a turbo tape user for 3 years. It is the best you can have
on your thumb instead of inside the thumb hole. I use the beige color one
for when it is too loose or the red, green smooth one for when it
is tight. Besides you can put on top of the tape you have on for
tightness. I do not put it on top of my thumb because I do not
knuckle the ball. I put the tapes on both sides of the thumb. That is the right and left side of the thumb overlapping towards the top. Besides giving you a clean and quick release it protects your thumb. There is also the
black silk type tape that you put on top of any tape so that you can adjust further your thumb and release. All this will avoid the tape inside the ball, and the cleaning of the sticky feeling after taking out the tape.

It is quick to do with no fussing and blaming the thumb hole. Throw away does
tapes that you insert inside the thumb hole and get the turbo or vise (red) tapes. I just cut them 1 1/8 long just to cover the sides of your thumb that makes contact inside the thumb hole. You will find that the hard friction will minimize and your thumb will appreciation the comfort.

I use the purple Turbo tape. The coarseness is between the beige and mint green.
