I need a new one as well. Good for low light because bowling alleys think they are strip clubs with their lightning

Are GoPro's the way to go? Seems to be what people are using, but bowling is special.

I have a Sony HX50V that I really like. It takes really good low light pictures

 Gopro can shoot 4 k videos so I believe their up their for such a tiny camera. If u do go in to gopros I suggest hero4 silvers cuz its touchscreen while the hero4 silver has stronger specs but no touchscreen.

Just about any camcorder will work, obviously HD ones will produce better quality.

The problem you will run into is, most bowling alleys are darker before the foul line.  Then out on the lanes its much brighter. You need to brighten the approach
area to similar brightness or you get piss poor vids.

I bought 2 photo lamps with those big umbrellas on them to help brighten the approach area.  Just make sure to not direct the light directly on you, just light up the general area

Yes, a lot of approaches get dark.

I have to go to another house other than the one I bowl leagues at when recording videos.

I wanted to make sure my Videos were on the same shots as my reviews.  That and the people at Visionary like that its a little bit of a heavier shot.

What is the purpose of the video?  If you can lighten up the area with lamps, a cell phone can record excellent video.  The newer ones even record 4K.

Sony Vixia GF-H20, with maxed out memory card slots you can film for 8 hours straight of memory, has a lot of features, and comes with a lense hood. 

For $900ish, its a really good camera, very good quality and output rates, etc.
