LANE CONDITION

Length:39ft

Volume:medium

Likes:Smooth reaction on backend

Dislikes:NONE

I drilled my Nighthawk SE with the pin above ring finger. WOW this ball pushes thru the heads and has an angular movement off the spot. To me anybody who loved the eagle pearl will love this ball. For a pearl ball this ball still cuts thru the the oil with ease. May have to polish if you bowl on light oil conditions. This is truely my benchmark ball for AMF. I had 237-259-247=743 the first night. Looking forward to bowl on sport conditions. The ball is very readable. Thanks 900Global-AMF for another great ball.

Likes: Smooth and controllable is what this Nighthawk SE is! A great combination of core to coverstock that will give you a great reaction on any dry to medium condition. Only the oiliest of patterns will keep this ball in your bag. And because the ball is so controllable it will be good on most sport patterns. This is a benchmark ball for me and I will be taking two of them to USBC Open Championships next spring. AMF has done a great job on bringing back this classic ball! I drilled this one with a 5 1/2 inch pin.

If you are looking for a ball that is very predictable and has a nice smooth shape to it, then The AMF 300 Night Hawk SE is the ball for you.

After putting a very simple layout of pin above my ring finger I figured this ball would get through the heads very cleanly, and it didn’t disappoint.  The Night Hawk was extremely controllable off the break point and hits the pins with a lot of energy.  I really liked how low the ball kept the pins low on the deck, creating more pin action than a lot of other equipment.

Pairing the F55 Hybrid coverstock with a Symmetric weight block was definitely a winner as well.  This allows the ball to react, but not over react on typical lane conditions will face.  I was able to gradually move inside and keep swinging to the same spot without concern of the ball jackknifing and leaving something ugly to shoot at.

Keeping the color simple with black is always a good option.  It was good with the original Night Hawk and certainly hold true with the Night Hawk SE.  If you are looking for a great ball for most lane conditions you will encounter in bowling, look no further than the AMF 300 Night Hawk SE.

AMF Nighthawk SE
#15
2.75" pin
3.2oz top

Rt. hand
14-15 mph
PAP 4 9/16

Drilling: ANGLE: 60° Pin to PAP 5” Val Angle: 70° Pin down
Volume 38-41ft
THS, Kegel Challenge Series

The NightHawk is back with a twist!  LOVE the new hybrid shell, drilled this one looking for midlane and backend - got it all!  Ball has a nice midlane roll and a super aggressive arc/flip for the backend.  For me with a slower ball speed (14-15mph) this ball has a ton of hook in it.  What's extremely nice is the predictability off the spot.  Easy to read.  Opens up the lane for me on THS and comes back from just about anywhere!  This is a medium to medium/heavy oil ball that carries well especially light pocket hits.  This thing is a beast when it encounters dry!  Will be my go-to ball for THS.  A must have for tournaments, league, Nationals and us guys and gals who remember how good they bowled with the original NightHawk.  Great comeback choice for AMF!

Wow! Talk about a blast from the past. The new AMF Nighthawk SE is no joke. This ball is an absolute monster for someone looking for a ball for a THS or a little later in the block. It is nice and smooth and hits the hole like a bulldozer. It has been a pleasant surprise that I can carry light mixers in addition to the high flush shots.

For my Nighthawk I went with the layout 60x4x40. This layout is a personal favorite of mine and matches up perfectly with the ball. It creates a nice smooth motion that doesn't stop once it starts.

Lane Condition bowled on: Standard house shot 40 feet in length

It's back and better than ever. The Nighthawk SE creates a benchmark reaction that all bowlers crave. The F55 shell is finished at a "T" pad, which is equivalent to a 4000 sanded finish. This surface matches up on medium oil patterns with ease and will handle a little bit more oil with straighter trajectories. My layout was my favorite one, 45x4x65. I saw a strong midlane with a strong arc on the backend.

Overall this newest version of the Nighthawk doesn't disappoint. It is a lot of ball for the price.

IN AN AGE OF "BRINGING BACK THE OLDIES", THE ONLY BALL FROM THE MID/LATE 90'S THAT STARTED A LINE OF DOMINANCE HAD TO BE THE ORIGINAL AMF NIGHTHAWK. HERE IT IS! THE NIGHTHAWK SPECIAL EDITION IS HITTING PRO SHOPS ON 11/14/14! BEING A PROUD OWNER OF THE ORIGINAL, THE TORQUE, AND THE REVENGE, I WAS PRETTY EXCITED TO HEAR THAT A NEW VERSION WAS ON THE HORIZON. COVERED IN AN T-PAD (4000) SURFACE, F55 HYBRID SHELL, AND THE POWER RING SYMMETRIC CORE, OLD FAITHFUL HAS BEEN JUICED UP TO CONQUER ALL OF TODAY'S CONDITIONS. DRILLED MINE FOR A NICE SMOOTH ROLL, AND IT DELIVERS. WHEN THE LANES GET A LITTLE OVER/UNDER, THIS IS MY GO TO BALL. IT CLEARLY THROWS PINS AROUND ON LIGHT HITS. WORKING ON THROWING UP BIG NUMBERS USING THE ORIGINAL ON ONE LANE, AND THE SPECIAL EDITION ON THE OTHER. CHECK OUT MY VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE, USERNAME "CONVENTIONALSPINNER"...

Length:40

Volume:21.0

Type THS

Likes:Ball pushes very easy and reminds me of the original all the way, with mph's at 18 I may need to fine tune the cover but with so many great choices with Global and AMF right now I think I will wait.

Drilling:   Pin Down
Surface:   OOB 4000
Lane condition:   41ft THS
Description:   This ball was one of the favorites back in the day, and I'm super excited AMF 300 brough this ball back. This ball does not disappoint at all. The Nighthawk SE picks up nice and early and has a very controllable backend motion. It is best used on fresh medium oil conditions. It allows you to play further right, but still picks up early enough that you don't have to worry about leaving flat corners, which is a problem that I have with a lot of the "dry lane" balls. Controlable is the best word for this ball. It doesn' t make a huge move off the spot, but it hits the pins hard, and keeps them low which is a big deal to me. This can also be used as a great benchmark ball.

Drilling:   Pin Down cg kicked out about a inch with a P3 hole
Surface:    4000 grit abralon
Lane condition:   THS
Description:   The Nighthawk SE picks up nice and early and has a very controllable backend motion. It is best used on fresh medium oil conditions.  I was able to play further right than my Dream with this ball and did not have near the amount of backend reaction as my Dream.  the Night Hawk will tame down the reaction on wet/dry lanes and give you a nice read of the midlane.
Will be a great ball for tournaments once the lane has broken down a little and you need to tame the reaction.

Drilled 5x3 no extra hole.  Clean in the heads with a nice strong but not flippy move on the back.  With the box surface, straight players stick to medium to dry lanes with your favorite layout.  Higher rev players can use the Nighthawk on most lane conditions with slight surface adjustments.

For those of us who were lucky enough to have the original AMF Nighthawk and remember how good it was guess what AMF has a ball as good as the original. The Nighthawk SE is an amazing bench mark ball it is very clean throughout the lane. This ball is very predictable and very clean that doesn't mean you won't see that down lane reaction that you want this ball makes and excellent move off the dry but is not uncontrollable. Overall excellent ball that all AMF lovers need to add to arsenal.

Layout: 45 x 5 x 30
Surface: OOB

The Nighthawk SE picks up where the original left off. I was initially surprised on the reaction because I was expecting it to be long and strong. What I got was a strong midlane reaction with a strong controlled arcing motion. This ball is great on a THS and has all the characteristics of a benchmark ball. I am a fan of all the "retro" pieces released, I hope the line continues in the future.

COMMENTS
The Nighthawk is back. Now with a modified Favorite core! For this ball I chose a layout that has been a all around good performer for me: 60*x5"x45*. I have used this layout with success on the Favorite, King Cobra, and Darkness to name a few. Clean through the heads and a smooth, controllable backend ball motion. This ball is smoother than a Favorite and King Cobra by far. I was forced to play up the boards and as the lanes transitioned, I could continue to play this part of the lane without the ball checking up or over-reacting. The back-end move is smoother than expected. As far as cover changes go, I have only used this ball at the OOB finish which is a "T" pad and not experimented with any lower grit surfaces. I feel this ball needs a little friction up front or a little more surface to be able to use it on anything more than a THS. I wouldn't hesitate to snag another one and drill with a more aggressive layout. This ball is a great step down from an All Day and a step above a Boost Pearl. Again, another ball that will be very drill friendly and suit all bowling styles. For those bowlers who want an even arching reaction without the over-reaction, this is your ball.
