Venom Shock Pearl Ball Review
« on: March 07, 2018, 01:01:56 PM »
Motiv’s release of the Venom Shock Pearl give you a ball with versatility and lots of performance. This light to medium oil ball has the Top Gear dual density weight block which give you more angular backend motion and the Hexion medium friction pearl cover providing easy length and a fast backend response.  I have found adding some surface to this cover helps it pick up a little faster in the fronts on fresh patterns while the cover helps get this ball down the lane later in the shift.  You will want this ball in your bag!

I own it. It's a decent ball. A bit stronger than the Venom Cobra, but with an earlier read of the lane. A bit weaker than the Venom Shock, with a little later read of the lane.

If you already have the Shock and Cobra, no real need to own this ball. Unless you want a replacement for the Cobra. Then get one and polish the cover and you are set.

My bad, I forgot to read the "propaganda" from the Motiv site.  :o   8)

I have this ball too yet only have about 3 games on it.  As milo stated, it seems okay.  It looks kinda shiny, but nothing like Storm 1500 polish.  Yet it has some of the same characteristics OOB.  Now after 3 games on the cover, it is starting to act a bit better.

When it gets out too soon it tends to roll out.  When I get it in a bit it deflects.  Just like every other ball it carries just fine when it works.  Will try to get another game on it at the end of the night tonight.

First impression is it isn't a Venom Shock in the sense it seems amazing right out of the box.  But it appears, at least for now, better than the Octane series and better than most of the Primal series.

Real world vs fantasy staffer reviews are spot on. I use a 14lb and the lower RG and higher diff make this more ball than the OG for me. Due the aforementioned factors it reads way earlier than I had hope so it’s more a ball up than down from the OG. I took it to 3000 and will give it a try on fresh next time I’m on a league shot

I have gone with lower grits on my VSP starting with an old 1000 by hand which was decent to 1500 wet/dry on a spinner and that was way early.  Just need to find the perfect surface for my situation.

I hear 2000 is popular but I don't have any 2000 right now.  Will have to do something similar.
