The video is nice, but it alone doesn't constitute a review.
I did like that you showed different lines of play and angle to the pocket.

May I suggest you include any or all of the below to do comparisons which will truly show how the ball reacts compared to others:
- ball drilling layout
- describe your release delivery specs.
- show another ball or two as a comparison, with their drilling(s)
- show balls that didn't strike
- show strike that didn't hit the pocket.
- describe the lane pattern.

So is this a true urethane pearl or a Rhino-like cover on a stronger I-Block core? I know the original BTU everyone was saying it wasnt a urethane and people had trouble controlling somewhat.

I thought there was no doubt that both were true resin, but designed to simulate the roll/breakpoint control of a urethane for light to medium-light oil patterns.
The name, "Better Than Urethane" seems to say it all; it's not urethane.

Charlest gets it.  The BTU is a lower response reactive that actually takes the base cover from the Nirvana + chemical additives to decrease the overall reaction to simulate a more urethane-like reaction.  Its a niche ball that fills a gap between lower end solids and urethane that I see being used in 2 main situations:

1)  For bowlers who want to stay straighter on drier lanes when their other reactives are too strong, but fear their urethanes rolling out.  My concern with this is that most bowlers will use their "favorite layout" which is often something stronger and pin up resulting in more reaction than the bowler desires.

2)  With a little scuff and a lower response layout (pin down or shorter pin to axis) it can serve as an alternative to urethane but with a little more continuation down the lane.  I like how this looks on longer shorter patterns (36-38') or for med-higher rev rates playing in the track on fresher lanes

One of the Fanatic BTUs (probably solid) is near the top of my list for my next ball.  A much tamer Burgundy Hammer sounds very appealing (Blue Hammer a bit too long and slightly too weak imho to cover that completely).  Sometimes it seems like there is 2 types of people who really want urethane.  2 handed rev monsters who need urethane in order to control their ball (these types seem to usually throw Pitch Blacks) and a little older strokers like me with nostalgia.  Often real urethane is not always the answer for the latter group even if we desire the reaction (then again I have The Crow coming in later this week so yeah I am full of it).  Still this Pearl version look sweet.

I appreciate your input. Just wanted to do a basic video on how it rolls for me. I want to see my response in views and input before going all out "ball review" if you know what I mean lol. I'll probably add some of that stuff in my upcoming videos. I'll be doing a ball video for the Pitbull Growl once i drill it.

Nice video, When i got my Fanatic BTU, I loved it so much that I got another the very next week so I keep my pin down at about 2K dull and my pin up at about 4K polished and where I

bowl the lanes get jacked up after just one game [usually anyway] so those two have been giving me a lot of high series and high scores. Also, here in So. Cal. with the weather getting hotter our lanes near the entrance of the house get dried up pretty quickly so another reason why I wanted to try the BTU out.

I might get the BTU pearl version but I suspect a overlap but I dont know, maybe someone will chime on in and let me know. Or I am thinking about a RHINO pearl. One thing that I have to say about the BTU is you have to have some dry boards to play it on or its just a dart :)

Happy Bowling everyone!
