The Danger Zone Pro-HP Distance is the first high-gloss proactive. It is designed for power players who need more length and the ball offers the greatest skid/snap of any Zone Pro. THIS BALL IS A VERY GOOD BALL BUT THE DISTANCE PART IS ONLY TRUE IF YOU THE OIL OR SPEED TO SEND IT THRU THE HEADS. ON THE BACKEND IT MAKES A NICE MOVE WITOUT BEING TO JUMPY. WHEN THE HEADS DISAPPEAR SO DOES THE HPD

My Danger Zone HPD started out with a pin distance 3-5/8" from the cg. I layed out the ball the following way: The pin is located above my fingers on the grip center line and the cg is 1" to the right of grip center (I am right handed). Then, I polished the ball to 1500 grit polish, just enough to barely feel the surface of the cover. At the house I used the ball, the lanes are oiled to 47 ft. Even though this ball is not a really strong drilling, the ball went down the lanes and recovered nicely to the pocket. This layout worked really well for me on this type of condition. On a shorter oil length, if there is not a lot of oil on the lane, I cannot use this ball as it is too strong. I have approximately 60 games on this ball and it still rolls the same as the first day I threw it. Since this ball has a tendency to soak the oil, I keep the ball cleaned after use. I use a ball spinner and a cleaner to remove the oil and dirt.

On January 5, 2000 I rolled my first-ever ABC-sanctioned 300 game with this ball. This feat was preceded by a 180 game and a ball switch (from the HPH to the HPD). I had this winner drilled with the pin above the ring finger and the CG within the grip, just right of center with the weight concentrated near the fingers. Plenty of length, a backend snap, and perfection were the results!

the hp distance is one of the best balls i own.

the ball is great on heavy oil and med, i use the ball on wood lanes

and synthetatic lanes.

i use the hpd for to games and then i take it off the lane because the

lanes get to dry, it is a realy great ball, and my avg went up ten points since i own the ball

I've been using the HP for quite awhile now, and I've found it to be quite a valuable ball for me on medium to oily lanes. I like the distance, and especially the way it performs on the back end. It's got the usual great hitting power of all Brunswick balls, and many nights I've been able to use it all 3 games in league play. Very versatile ball!

Hey all;

Been a while since I had a chance to throw a Brunswick ball and the HPD has impressed me alot.

Two guy's on my team have had them for a few months and was suprized that they could get them down a lane(being a particle ball)late into the night.

My HPD was drilled with the pin over my ring finger = 5" and the cg is in a direct line to my axis point (cg at 3")(axis point 6")

The ball started with a 3" pin out and top weight at 2.0 .First night out 911 for 4 games. was surprized that the ball liked being rev'd up and wouldn't grab in the heads. This layout should get me a pretty controled backend, but the HPD cruises back to the pocket with all the drive to carry the corners. Second night out 1026 for 4 games.

It was pretty much, stand left, throw right and let it run at the pocket! Good job Brunswick, but don't take it away so soon! Tony

The Danger Zone-Pro HPD is Brunswick's most versatile ProActive ball. This was the one ProActive I have thrown where I saw great length, and it did not have a tendancy to move early in the heads. With both the Riot Zone-Pro and the Contact Zone-Pro 2.0, I didn't see the length that was advertised, but with the HPD I definitely saw it. Bowling This Month said recently that the HPD was one of the best medium condition balls to come out in 1999, and I agree 100%. One thing I have noticed is my HPD in particular seems to be very shiny and has stayed that way. Now I do know that it has the Cerium Oxide Trizact finish, but I haven't seen too many other HPDs around that have held up the shine on them as well as mine has.

The HPD gets through the heads nicely, and doesn't have a tendancy to burn up the heads too quickly. It gets into a roll in the midlane area, and revs up strong. I knew the hitting power of this ball would be awesome since it has the same core as the Command Zone, and yes it does hit like a truck! I see no negatives with this ProActive ball except of course it is ProActive, and when the heads are gone it is time for Reactive. Its biggest strengths are great length, predictable and strong back end, and tremendous roll and hitting power. Of all the current ProActives currently available from Brunswick, the HPD is by far the best and most versatile. I am interested in the Danger Zone-Pro HPC. From the look of its core, and the more aggressive coverstock (MTX-4), I feel it will be a strong ball for strokers and power players on most of the heavier oils with more usability than the Danger Zone-Pro HPH.

My HPD is drilled in a leverage-stacked position. Pin is about 3" and about 3 oz. of top weight. The pin is about an inch to two inches above the ring finger and to the right about an inch or so (in the leverage position). Good luck!

If you have some wrist action on the bal land want skid/flip then this is the ball for you.

The bowler that benefits most from the HPD is the power player because the cover and core are aggressive enough to come back from anywhere yet the TriZacted finish gets the ball downlane before this all happens.

Another neat thing is that no special drillings are needed....set the pin at 1:30 and drill and you get a super reaction.

Great ball but does tend to track up easily.

I have had this ball for about a year and a half now, and I still like it a lot. I don't know the drilling off the top of my head, but I do know that the pin is 2-3 with 3.7oz topweight.
When this ball was new it had a tremendous hook on lanes that were oiled medium heavy, but now it doesn't hook as much as it use to so I have found that it works best on medium dry. And the ball never really did work that well on carrydown even when it was new. However it still hits very hard and doesn't leave many ten pins at all.

One of the best balls that I have used besides Storm is the Danger Zone Pro-HP Distance. I had this ball drilled leverage with extra weight hole to make it legal. The length is great with this ball with a strong arc to the pocket. Not sure of the oil pattern however; very versatile however.

Drilled stack leverage
Had it for more than a year with it going in and out of the bag for kicks.

Generally ball stank for me, backends were soft and mooshy, when sanded it hooked early and stayed dead in the backend, when shined backend was soft, seemed as if it wants to hook but a force (the force of stanky balls) kept it from turning.

If I throw a straight spin shot it works ok when I try to open the lanes with a higher roll and more side rotation, it was lost.

Back in the closet, just in case I need land filler for my backyard

Conclusion: A pin favorite because they don't get hit very hard with the HPD

Ball has a 5" pin and is drilled with the pin above and between the fingers. The cg is kicked to the right about an inch.

I tried the ball on a 7 to 7 shot oiled to 30, buffed to 40.
This ball flat out blows, really bad. Doesnt hook in the oil. So then i tried playing the ball straight down the second arrow hoping to get a little reaction off the backend, nothing. This ball doesnt not hook at all. I have it sanded to 600, then tried 400, still nothing there. Not a good choice.

this is symply the best ball i have ever had. this ball is suitable to every kinds of lane conditions and catchs polishments and grits very easily. this ball was the hitest hard i have ever had even a year after it have benn bought.
a great ball and i,after this ball became a big fan of brunswick balls and equipments.
