Description: Once again Brunswick responds to the market. To complement the success of the Fury, bowlers asked for a pearlized version. Answering the call, Brunswick delivers the Fury Pearl.

Building on the success of the original Fury, the Fury Pearl utilizes a pearlized coverstock and a smoother Coverstock Finish to create a ball with a back-end reaction that is truly BIG. The Fury Pearl utilizes a pearlized version of the High Octane coverstock used on the original Fury. The pearl additive helps create more length and saves hooking action for the back-ends.

The bowling industry is starting to embrace the surface finishes created by 2000-grit and 4000-grit abrasives. These abrasives create a glossy finish that many bowlers would assume are polished with a wax or similar compound. The benefit to the bowler is that these finishes create length similar to balls coated with compound finishes, but are better able to handle carrydown. The Fury Pearl is finished with 4000-grit Abrasive pads driven by the new Haus high speed bowling ball resurfacing machine.

The Fury Pearl uses the original Furyâ€™s Torsion Symmetric core system known for its high hook potential, easy revving and powerful, but controllable breakpoints. Brunswick has twisted the core on the inside of the ball so you can twist it up more on the lanes.

Out of the Box: With its 4000-grit finish, the Fury Pearl will provide a more skid/snap reaction than the original Fury and match up well on medium-dry to medium-oily lane conditions.

BRUNSWICK FURY PEARL
After the success of the original Fury and the Torsion Core, I was excited to see what the next big thing from Brunswick would be. The Fury Pearl is a superb follow up and may be better than the original for most people.

The test ball we received had a pin of 3" and a top weight of 2.5 ounces. I wanted to drill it so that it would be versatile on the house shot and the PBA shots we were going to test with it. I put the pin directly above my ring finger and the CG almost right below the pin. This drilling would allow the ball to get down the lane but still have enough pop on the backend.

HOUSE SHOT:
I really liked the Fury Pearl on our house pattern. It gave me some room to miss on both sides. If I missed right the ball would catch the dry, run back to the hole and carried great. If I tugged it inside it would skate in the oil and still have enough surface to turn on the back and not leave the ten. I could play almost anywhere I wanted to. I was amazed at how smooth this ball rolls and how hard it hit. It wasn't like a lot of other balls that roll really smooth in that it had enough energy left at the hole not to leave the flat ten. I also noticed that on half hits it would either split the rack or send a missile for the corners.

PBA VIPER PATTERN:
Thanks to the fine people at Executive Strike & Spare I will be able to do reviews for balls on the PBA Patterns now. The shot I had the most success with on the Viper Pattern with the Fury Pearl was deep inside. If I gave it enough speed to get through the heads the cover had enough friction to grab on the back and make a good turn. I had a couple boards I could miss either way as long as I kept good revs on it and made sure I got it through the heads. The only time I ran into trouble is when I would push it to far right and it couldn't recover in the oil or if I missed left the dry would take it through the face. The other guys that were testing the ball with me liked playing it farther right than I did. Either way the Fury Pearl performed great on the Viper pattern.

OVERALL:
I was very happy with the Fury Pearl. Its a very smooth rolling, predictable and powerful piece of equipment. I think Brunswick has done an excellent job this year of getting a quality lineup of balls on the market. Each ball is distinct and reacts the way they say it will. The Fury Pearl will probably be the first ball out of my bag on most normal house shots and I wouldn't hesitate to take it with me to any tournament I bowl in.

My impression of this ball:

As a pro shop operator there are several things you are looking for in a ball of choice for the customer namely readability, predictability, carry, and power. The Fury Pearl has joined some of its extremely successful Brunswick predecessors the Danger Zone, Original Inferno, and Danger Zone in providing these characteristics in a successful high performance pearl ball. The Fury Pearl has never failed to impress me over the last several weeks by providing a strong, angular, controllable read off of friction while creating loads of area on any house pattern I have encountered. The Fury Pearl Provides 3-5 boards more recovery when being compared to my Radical Inferno test ball while providing an earlier more secure read through the late middle part of the lane. This performance series release is also extremely fine tuneable using different sanding media like abralon. My 4000 abralon Fury pearl hooks roughly 3 feet earlier than the polished fury and provides several more boards of recovery as opposed to the high glossed one which of course is slightly more angular. The scuffed Fury Pearl provides a strong angular arc on the back end and will read the breakpoint for almost any style bowler. The polished Pearl Fury provides a quicker response time and is my go to ball when the sanded one reads too soon. Carry percentage with either ball is much better than average even when crossing many boards (roughly 20 to 2 at 45 feet) at an angle that would be considered too steep for our 41 foot med-high volume house pattern. This ball is certain to become the go to ball for many when angularity and consistency are required on patterns of med to high volumes. All you need to do is find a dry recovery area down lane and start striking. Overall, I feel that the Fury Pearl is the strongest most versatile high performance pearl on the market today and with the durability of Brunswick's coverstocks how could one go wrong?

Fury Pearl is very good on any lane condition above medium. i can play anywhere with right angles, etc.
my average went from 205 to 224 ! and this ball hit very hard and carry very well ! It's really my favorite ball since 10 years.

i encountered the carry Down and dont have problems. i moved 2-3 boards to right from my original place and carry down was too easy to skip !

I strongly recommend this ball for any bowler style and any lane condition. It's very easy to customize the coverstock surface. Grab this one for tournaments, you will be succesful this year !

Fury Pearl is nice and perfect compliment to Fury. With the 2 Fury, you can play anywhere without problem.

OOB Finish

The first few shots determined that the flare rings were too close together. When they're tight the ball doesn't read the midlane and you don't have as much recovery. Too much skid/flip.

7/8" hole drilled 2.25" down the VAL 2.25" deep
Statics ended 1/2" thumb and 1/4" side

Now the ball reads the midlane perfectly. The extra hole allows me to stand farther left and open up the shot more. Plus I can also tighten up the line and it doesn't over react when it hits the dry. I really like to move it makes to the pocket. Strong but not snappy.

To compare to the Radical, I had to scuff the cover on the Rad where I can leave the Pearl in box and have a better reaction.

Tomorrow will be on our 42' league shot...

Game 1 - Too oily used high pin Fury outside 10
Game 2 - Too oily used high pin Fury outside 10
Game 3 - Too oily used high pin Blast Zone 12
Game 4 - Just right! 14 at arrows out to 8

A fresh shot like this with a heavy volume is not a place for the pearl unless you slow roll it or have a high RPM rate. Once the track burned up a bit it read the midlane well and controlled the pocket. Instant 6 bagger once I switched. I may have been able to go to it one game earlier. There's always next week!

Just got this ball today.
Its 14 pounds, my pin is below my ring finger slightly to the right, 4000grit finish.
(right hander here)

Very powerful ball. Hit the pins really hard(no problems with the 10pin)
But for me it leaves the pin 5 1nce awhile.

With this ball i play a average ball speed but a high rev with a low axis.
This ball suites avg oiling. I recommend this ball for all players as i feel it is a great ball.

Drilled mine with pin above ring finger, 5 inches to PAP. Balance was close to zero all the way around, including top weight. No balance hole required. The pearl revs up quick, but is long and angular. Very strong off the break point, but did not over react when I got it a little wide on the top hat house shot. It reminds me a lot of the old Zone Classic, with more strength.

Very good pearl from Brunswick.

I want to start by thanking Dennis Reale for the test ball.

I laid the ball out with the pin 4 1/2" from my PAP and the CG 4" from my PAP. This layout required a hole, so I placed it 2 3/8" from my PAP down my VAL.

On our house shot, the Fury Pearl got through the heads well and picked up really strong in the midlane. When it reached the backends, the Fury Pearl was much more angular and continuous than any other Brunswick ball I've thrown. It hooked about 6 boards less than my Strike Zone, and had about the same amount of overall hook as my Vapor Zone, but was a bit more skid/flippy.

On the Cheetah pattern from our PBA Experience league, the Fury Pearl was too much off the dry, and was not the ball to use on the shorter pattern, and had to go back into the bag. I can see how this ball would perform well on medium length sport patterns, because it would provide a little more recovery on missed shots to the out with the strong backend.

This is, without a doubt, the best ball in the Brunswick line. It has supreme versatility and is very forgiving, especially for easier conditions. If you are thinking about getting one, go ahead and pull the trigger, you will not be disappointed.

I got the 15 lb. with a 3" pin to compliment my Fury 2 weeks ago and have now bowled 12 to 15 games on a THS with light oil with clean backend conditions. The drilling is pin right of ring finger and CG right of thumb. The Fury Pearl reacted very strongly under these conditions and overhooked when I lined up on 15. I finally found a consistent and accurate line from about the 28 board and can attest to the hitting power of this ball. In a 6 game practice set on Sunday I managed to crack 210 to 215 on 4 games and was above average on all 6 games. I plan to use this ball during league play for the first time tomorrow night and am anxious to see what happens now that I have a good idea about the way to play it. I currently average 174 to 176 in league and I'm a stroker style player.

I got this ball back about 3 months ago. I got this ball to complament my Fury. I have gotten to really like this ball and have come to notice a few very good points with this ball. First off it saves a ton of energy for the pins, as well as Having a very big back end more so then my fury. Both balls are laid out about the same. Pin above Ring finger CG kicked out slightly Don't care if cg matters or not both have about a 3-4 inch pin Fury has weight hole the pearl does not. Both are drilled using my pap

On the lanes both balls really work well with each other I usually start off with my fury so i can open up the lane. then after about a game and a half I switch to my fury pearl.

Also this ball works on alot of different pattens. I have Used this ball on the Us Open shot THS And a Few other PBA pattern very nice releace Fury and Fury pearl are a great 1-2 punch. Another great releace from Big B

This pearl has a very strong cover and I carry well with it. The Fury Pearl is stronger than my Black Widow Pearl with a similiar reaction. I guess the BWP is more angular if left in the OOB finish. I usually start the night with either my Black Widow solid or Fury Solid and then go to my Fury Pearl. This is one of my favorite balls. The biggest assett of this ball is that it's not squirelly as some pearls can be.

I bought the fury pearl a couple of weeks ago and can finally say I found a perfect medium condition ball.I'm RH with ball speed of 15-16 and like to play a straighter line to the pocket with a small swing from 10 to 5. I drilled this up with the pin above the bridge to get some length. I have thrown it for 2 sets now and it is one of the most consistant reading balls I've had in a long time.First set last week was only 584 because I kept getting nine counts.I left 7 nine counts in the third game alone even when adjusting to get the ten to kick out.That didn't bother me because our house just put new pins in and figured that could have something to do with it.Last night playing the same shot-247-253-247 for 747.This is an excellent ball if you are looking for a ball that is clean through the front and doesn't get jumpy on the back ends. Nice smooth arc and good carry. In the second game last night i was starting to trip the 4 pin late. Did that 3 times. Moved my feet 4 boards left and target 2 boards left and carry was back.Thinking of buying another one and leaving it in the box just in case.

i am a righty that hits it about 16 to 18 with plenty of hand i have the original fury drilled extreme agresive and a intense inferno that is for playing down and in i got the fury pearl drilled inbettween the two freshly drilled i shot 630 with a house shot that is very difficult i think the pearl hits way harder than my original fury i say this is a must have to play the middle of the lane

Ball is drilled stacked with pin above bridge. it has 3inch pin. At first I didnt like the ball. Then I decided to give it another chance. I probably have 40 games on it now. out of box it was so so. I ended up abralon 500 and then hit it with storm reacta shine. With a shine on this ball it gets through the heads so clean. The backend is tremendous and so is the pin carry. It doesnt seem to like carrydown but on clean backends without carry down this is a go to ball. When it makes its move it definetely moves. Has a nice predictable reaction. To me it rolls better then the original fury. If you need a ball to go long and snap would be a good choice.

I think the ball is very condition specific. It has loads of backend and will clear the early part of the lane fairly well. When big angles are needed, then this is the ball otherwise keep it in the bag.
