Real opinions of the Aura Paranormal
« on: April 12, 2014, 05:56:36 AM »
Our center has decided to change the shot here late season, and have basically flooded the middle part of the lane.

Now, they've put more oil from 15 to 15, and my AMF CODE just won't handle the volume in there now without swinging it out to the dry, and that is giving me terrible over/under reactions. Miss just a bit either way, and you get totally different reactions.

Buddies had a close out on the Aura Paranormal, and since I had always wanted to try that ball, I got one.

Just wanted to get some opinions from the guys who might've thrown this ball some before I drill it up.

I've read the reviews, but that doesn't always tell the whole story.

I love this line and mine was drilled pin up and it was a very strong arc and not really a flippy ball. This line is very controllable and is very easy to read. I had pin above bridge!

Nice ball for oil.  When there isn't enough oil you can polish it and it's quite good that way too.

Its a great ball. Very surface adjustment friendly. I plan on getting another one.

The Aura Paranormal is one of my "go to" balls. It can handle oil with ease, it was made to do just that. I've been bowling on tournament and challenge conditions with it and it always shines on the fresh. One note of caution, like most very aggressive balls be careful when you start to burn through the oil. If you start leaving 9 counts GET OFF it! I've gotten to the point where I know it that well. Once you start dinging dimes with it, it's time to make a change.

The ball revs up very easily and is great at reading a pattern. What I really like about it is the predictable roll you get from it. There are never any surprises. The Paranormal and the original Aura are tremendous balls. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the replies folks.  Sounds like I might've made a good choice with this one.

Hoping I can start inside of everyone else, and make my moves into fresh conditions instead of playing outside and having to move into the already burnt areas, or having to ball down so far that I end up throwing something plastic up the two board.

I've read the reviews, but that doesn't always tell the whole story.

Mine is a dual 45 x 4.5 x 30. My PAP is 4-1/2 right by 1 up. When they flood the lanes with Blue#3 i find the Aura Paranormal to read the oil-flooded lanes easily. The carry is excellent. The Paranormal doesn't like faster speeds when you play a tighter line as deflection becomes apparent. If you desire a more angular angle of entry into the pocket the Aura Mystic does extremely well.
