Difference In Strength Between Freeze and Blur?
« on: January 24, 2015, 05:47:29 PM »
Hey everyone,

Looking at getting some new balls to fill in the bottom end of my arsenal for alter in qualifying blocks. Looking at getting the Blur Solid, Blur Pearl, and the Deep Freeze. My question is how much of a difference in terms of strength and shape is there between the Freeze line and the Blur line, specifically the Freeze and Blur Pearl, and the Freeze Hybrid and Blur Hybrid/Solid?

BJI offers a great comparison between the 3 Blurs in their July 2014 online issue.  Pages 22, 26, & 27.

I have Freezes(a few) and also two Blurs, the Solid and the Hybrid.

I find the Blurs to more flare balls without much flip and the Freezes to have a little less flare and more flip.

Good smooth balls the Blurs.  Good ball with a bit of punch the Freezes.

I have other balls I like better in this price range or slightly higher I like a little better for total strength and hit!

I have a Blur Pearl and have seen quite a few Freezes. I think because of the coverstock difference, the Blurs are a little smoother and stronger overall while the Freezes will have a little more flip in the back

I have both the Blur Pearl and Deep Freeze, both drilled similar with pin up. They are an amazing combination when the lanes open up. When I have to start getting deeper with the BP, I just change to the Deep Freeze and stay in the same area. These are my step down from Antic, Disruption and Eruption Pro without moving more than 3 or 4 boards all night on a four or five person team. Great combo and highly recommended! Just my $.02, Bruce
