COMMENTS

Likes:  This orange ball is a must have for any rev rate player. Super clean through the front part of the lane, and a smooth wrap around the break point.  This ball is the perfect balance of length and strength.  A problem many rev rate league bowlers encounter is too much angularity at the break point. The Eruption Pro combines the length found in the shiner surface balls, with out losing the control of a smooth reaction.

Dislikes:  I only have one....so far...

Ball: Eruption Pro
Surface: 2000 Abralon
PAP: 5 1/4", 1/4" Up
Layout: Pin below fingers 2" from PAP, CG slightly inverted.

The Eruption Pro gets your attention going down the lane. The Emergency Orange definitely catches your eye but you quickly realize this ball is special when you see it read the back of the lane and go through the pins. Designed with a higher RG (2.51) and significantly lower differential (.031), this ball easily gives me my most consistent ball reaction.

C300 had drier lane conditions in mine when creating this ball and it does not disappoint when it sees friction. I have found that it also handles medium volumes very well. With a slight modification to the shell (OOB polished), the ball still has more than enough on the back end.

The Eruption Pro's strength is when it finds friction but shows versatility by allowing you to play straighter on medium oil volumes. This ball gives a noticeably different look compared to recent releases and is a must have for all tournament bowlers and anyone that bowls on high friction surfaces.

THIS IS THE BALL THAT COMPETITORS HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!

With the Exception of the Blue Eruption, we have struggled to find a cover that could navigate thru early hook.  AFter a lot of testing by our Pro Staff we have finally got the answer we have been looking for.

We purposely tested on Pro Logic on a high lineage center and used enough players to create significant breakdown and an environment.  Once we got to the point with significant early hook and the traditional lazy downline look that accompanies this, we went to work with the test balls.  4 different versions and after a no and a couple of "ok's", we got to the ball now known as the ERUPTION PRO.  This ball stood out head and shoulders above the rest for its ability to clear the front of the lane and then provide great change of direction out of the breakpoint.  It was easily the best piece we had seen in this environment and since has proven itself on a wide variety of patterns including Clara on the Cheetah pattern, myself on the Viper, and countless others at the World Series.  I have seen many drillings and many players with multiples of the same ball which is always a great indicator of success and versatility of a ball.

I have since used it on house patterns at home and on a few WBT patterns.  this ball has immediately become a centerpiece of my arsenal and should become a serious contender for ball of the year!

Likes:Well C300 fans this is the ball that we have been missing and has finally arrived.
I have been a TeamC300 staff member for the past 7 years and this is what i've been waiting for. The Resurgence core has been the best core in the line up (for me atleast, Symmetric ). Ive had alot of success with the resurgences Bursts and Eruptions. But this one tops them all.

With the new modified core We changed the densities of one of our most popular cores to give you the reaction you’ve been asking for. Higher RG and lowered differential makes this ball super super clean through the heads and talk about flip, it flips.

Everyone thinks of storm when they want a skid flip ball. Not anymore this ball is going to change the way you feel about C300 balls.  :)

I am a RH Hi-rev rate bowler and can use it on every shot i encountered so far, from long patterns to short when i have to move in to 5th 6th arrow it always recovers with all energy stored for hard hitting, messenger flying pin carry.

Great job to Bugsy Kelly and out team at C300 for taking us in the right direction.
Wether you are a Stroker Tweener or Cranker this ball will fit in your arsenal perfectly

The new Eruption Pro is AMAZING!!! I thought my old Eruption got through the heads clean. This ball not only grabs your attention going down the lane but also looks great going though the pins. I am a big fan of keeping the pins low on solid pocket hits and this ball does just that. I have even had success on THS fresh patterns as the Eruption Pro has a nice bite once it hits that fresh backend. This is a must have in any bag whether you are an league bowler or tournament player.

The Columbia 300 Eruption Pro is another great addition to the Eruption line.  I have had success with this ball on both house shots as well as 39 foot sport patterns.

The dual angle layout of 47 x 3 15/16 x 73 allows me to use my spin roll when the back-ends are snapping and it carries out the ten pin with ease.  I can also use my forward roll release when the lanes are a little tighter and square up the shot to the pocket.  Smooth rolling with a powerhouse weight block.

Another winner from Columbia 300 and I love the Emergency Orange color.

Rev Rate: 400 RPM
Speed: 17
Right Handed: Cranker

Drilling: Pin under middle; cg above thumb

I absolutely loved the Eruptions b/c it gave me a look that no other ball could give me as far as smoothness and clearing the heads. Never did I think C300 could create a ball that gets through the heads any better but they did it again. Out of the box, this ball clears the heads better than any ball on the market. Yes, I am a staffer so I don't throw other companies but I have had other ppl compare this ball to "the bowlers company" balls and they all were in agreement, nothing gets down the lane with as much ease at the Eruption Pro. Great for typical house conditions but even better for shorter to medium patterns. Used it for the past 3 weeks in my 4 game league. I think I may move a total of 2-3 boards all night. Avg 245 the past 3 weeks. This ball is a must have. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

So far I must say this has been one of the most, if not the most impressive piece from C300 in the last 3-4 years. It is definitely something that has been missing from the lineup for quite some time. The house that I bowl in most has very beaten up synthetic lanes dating from the early '80s; having said that, I would always get into trouble with splits and over-hooking backends from everything I threw. It didn't matter if I threw a Freeze or an Antics, the ball would hook anywhere on the lane. Very frustrating to say the least. I was absolutely thrilled about the Eruption Pro's specs. The Resurgence core is tried and true and battle tested with multiple great pieces over the last few years, but it's RG (2.46) is very low, which is where the "modified" resurgence core looks absolutely amazing here. While using less dense materials to make the core, it takes the RG up to 2.50 and tames out the differential to 0.36 (original resurgence core was around 0.40-0.46 depending on the cover used with the core) which allows for more forgiveness at the breakpoint without sacrificing the ability to get out the corner pins.

My first Eruption Pro is drilled 70 x 5.25 x 50 which puts the pin just above my middle finger with the CG slightly up and to the right of my grip center. Out of the box this was was very strong, much stronger than I had anticipated. After playing around with multiple types of surface with and without polish, I decided it was still just too strong as it was. My ball was still over-hooking the pocket on those burned up lanes I mentioned earlier, so I added an X-hole at 5" over directly on my midline, 1" diameter, 2" deep. This actually caused me to negative weight the ball slightly, helping to slow down the motion I was seeing at the breakpoint. I lost about 4 boards of hook but gained about 3-5 boards of area previously unseen downlane while still managing to kick corner pins out extremely well and helped it fit into my arsenal quite nicely for later in tournament blocks.

My second Eruption Pro I decided to drill pin down. I have a specific layout that I use on about 5-6 balls in my tournament arsenal that reads the mids extremely well, but doesn't produce a lot of angle downlane. This allows me to have a little more recovery right and be able to miss left a little and still hold true to the pocket. With my PAP and using the dual angles to lay out my equipment, this particular layout comes to 65 x 5" x 70. The layout gets the pin below my bridge and puts the CG just to the right and below my grip center. I only use this layout on 2-3" pin bowling balls for static weight purposes so I do not need to put an X-hole in the ball. This helps keep the smooth motion I'm looking for on fresh lanes when they normally play the least forgiving for me. I found that with this drilling, box surface was a bit too tame for my liking, and hand sanding with a 4000 Abralon pad would make the ball squirt downland. I put the ball on my spinner and wet sanded it to 3000 with a fresh Abralon and this ball really came to life! It's smoother transition downlane is perfect for the beat up lanes I practice when they are fresh and give me tons of room for error both left and right.

All in all this is a wonderful new addition to the lineup that any tournament bowler or league bowler would be crazy to pass up! It will definitely be in contention for ball of the year and I look to see more of this product in the future!

All i can say about the ball is wow!..the eruption pro I drilled is 60x4-1/2x40 pin up....the eruption pro is as clean thru the front of the lane as any other ball I can remember drilling...and when it hits the friction on the back makes a big powerful move on the back...its not totally allergic to oil either as some shiny balls I've drilled... if u want a ball that turns the corner than this is the ball for you!!!

I've had the pleasure of drilling two Eruption Pro's so far.  One 5x5, pin up, no hole and one 5x4, pin down with a small P3 hole.  Both at box surface.

The pin down Eruption Pro is the perfect mix of clean through the fronts, smooth off the end of the pattern, and very continuous through the pins.  The one reminds me a lot of the original Blue Eruption, but with more continuation through the pins.  I've had a lot of success with this ball on house shots on HPL lane surfaces with a little more friction, as well as medium length Sport patterns where you need control to keep the ball in the pocket.

The pin up Eruption Pro is the cleanest and hardest hitting C300 ball I've used when the pattern breaks down and you have to get in deep.  With the lower diff core this layout doesn't produce a lot of flare, so I wouldn't recommend going with this weak of a layout unless you have some hand, but for those players with some hand you will get an incredibly valuable ball reaction from this in later stages of tournaments.

Overall these balls compliment the Vow and Smackdown nicely.  The pin down one fits right between these other two balls, and the pin up one is a perfect step down from the Vow.

Thanks for reading,
Erik V.

This ball is...absolutely ridiculous. There are no words to explain how good it is and how hard it hits. Drilled mine 70x5x70, and the continuation and pin carry on this ball is just sick. EXTREMELY versatile, can play in or out with it depending on condition and hand position. With this drilling, the ball goes forever, and really makes a hard left turn after it trues up in the late mids. The remarkable thing about this ball is that it just never stops through the pins, and throws pins everywhere. Really a must have ball.
