How well did the Rock Star handle Carrydown?
« on: June 09, 2003, 09:29:04 AM »
I've got a chance to buy a Rock Star, and I was just wondering how well it handled Carrydown... or was it a ball for super clean backends???

Thanks!

Thanks but I was wanting something to get through the heads better when they dry out a little bit, and those two you named would probably not be useful when they do start to dry out.

Ric,

Since it's a polished, low flare particle ball, its ability to handle carrydown depends on the amount of oil, the drill pattern and your revs & speed. Being particle it should handle some carrydown naturally; having a decent stock polish (which can be dulled of polished more highly) its ability depends on how much carrydown and how you deliver it. Stronger drillings will handle more carrydown than weaker ones. As per usual, the answer is "it depends".
