The MASS CHAOS is Columbia 300's newest TEC (Texture Energy Control) ball. The ball is available in Blue with Yellow engraving and is available in weights of 10-16 lbs. The MASS CHAOS is Columbia's newest TEC (Texture Energy Control) ball with microscopic balloons in the shell for added traction. The ball has a dense, offset internal puck to create mass bias in the ball. This dense offset puck (which can be drilled) acts as a third weight block on the side of the core. This ball combines the most popular coverstock in the marketplace with a high Rg (2.559) core, medium-high differential Rg (.058) and a mass bias puck. This all adds up to the most aggressive hooking ball on the back end of the lane. The MASS CHAOS has a C.A.T.S. hook rating of 23.

The Mass Chaos is a great compliment to both the Extreme Chaos, if you are looking for a bit more hook.  And also to the Complete Chaos, if you are looking for a bit less hook.  As you can tell, the Mass Chaos fits in between the Extreme and Complete.  

The Mass Chaos gets through the heads cleaner than any of the prior Chaos' and stores up a lot of energy on the back end.  In my experience with the test ball I received, I took the shine off of the ball to make it easier to compare to my other Chaos'.  The Mass Chaos rolls similar to the Extreme, but has more continuous arc through the back part of the lane.  Thus, a bit more overall hook than the Extreme Chaos.  

After throwing the Mass Chaos, I think it is the most versatile of them all.  A great addition to anyone's equipment line.  

Lastly, for those of you who are wondering, I drilled mine with the pin 3 3/8 from my PAP and with the mass bias marking in the strong position.

I drilled a Mass Chaos for a medium oil condition. The ball started with a pin 3-1/2" from the cg.  The pin is 4-1/2" from my axis which puts the pin above my ring finger and a little to the right.  The cg is 1-5/8" right of the center of the grip. I needed no weight hole with this ball.  I left the surface "as is" out of the box.  This is the best chaos I have thrown.  The ball clears the heads fairly well and has great recovery on the back.  The ball hits very well.  I was impressed with this ball as it seems not to over react like other particle balls I have thrown with a similar layout.  One word of caution. When you first use the ball, it may go too long at first.  After you have thrown 2-3 games, the ball will not go too long and the arcing characteristics of the ball will show.  Since this ball is factor polished, you do not feel the texture of the surface like you do other particle balls.  This ball is certainly a great addition to my arsenal.

The Mass Chaos gives a different ball reaction with its offset puck. Mine was set up as a 4 3/4 x 3 3/4. I was surprised how much this ball skid-snapped when I first threw it. I had to make a couple of adjustments to tame down this reaction. I removed the 1/2 ounce of positive side weight, taking it to 1/2 ounce negative. I then hit the shell with a light 3-M pad. This gave the ball a more consistent reaction, readable reaction. Now the ball doesn't jump off the dry like it once did, it sets up to the pocket. Many of my best reacting balls needed this type of fine-tuning before they turned into favorites.

I want to start off by saying I do not have this ball. My friend has it and I use it pretty frequently. It has been a pretty good ball so far. It gets through medium-oily conditions and anything less with a good amount of snap. When it gets to the outside, WATCH OUT, because it's coming back. BUT, on oily conditions it does not do much. We both have to slow our ball speed down to get it to hook.But besides that,this is a great ball!It also gets good carry.This ball makes the pins fly everywhere.Another bad thing is that this ball leaves pretty many 10's,not a huge amount,but a few more than his Storm.Overall,so far I give this ball an 8 1/2.

Likes: Everythang.....it loves light to dry lanes and does awesome...It goes long and snaps back at the right time. Only for good bowlers who have nice revs and high speeds.
Dislikes: Nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's the best ball for dry....and what I needed.. I havent tryed it on heavy oils or a fresh shot... Will report back

I got this ball becasue I needed a dry lane ball when the heads fry up... A friend has it before me and he said it was a good ball, just not for him and I got ahold of it and now im keeping this sucker. This ball is very versital, because you can play the straight down the 2nd arrow, and have it snap back, or you can stand left and throw it out to the 2nd arrow, to open the lane more. I will report back on this ball when i play it on heavy, fresh oil, but one thangs fo' sho, I'm keepin' this ball shortie...

I'm fairly new to competitive bowling. I've been in it for 3 months, and am averaging 170, to 190 in my league. So anyway I needed my first custom fit reactive ball. Since I'm a new cranker I choose the Mass Chaos, and couldn't be happier.

My first game was bad (125), but I then adapted and put down a 234, and 254! This ball has helped me improve my release, and consistancy. The only bad thing about this ball is that it is in NO WAY usefull on dry lanes. When the pattern breaks down I can litteraly set this thing down on the 40th, hang it off 1st board, and put a dent in the left gutter. So to say the least it's an absolute monster that needs oil.

-Great ball with lots of hook. i've been bowlin 2 weeks with it and scored my high game 279. love the ball. great on all conditions although oily lanes you might want to slow down.

I've owned 3 of these, in the last 10 years or so. Just happened to get two of them on ebay. Same pin placement for both. Tossed one in the closet for use later. This was a great ball in it's day. And still has plenty of POP in the dry area of the lane. Drilled it with pin under ring finger & cg past the VAL, balance hole on PAP. It gets through the heads great & flips & flys, unleashing an enormous hook on the backend. Best when used on wet/dry lanes. Shot 300 with it this year already. Then it was stolen from the bowling center, where I bowl. This totally bummed me out. I took the other one out of my closet, drilled it the same as the other one. And low and behold I shot another 300 with it, within 3 weeks of drilling it. AWESOME BALL !!! I am one for the "old school" bowling balls (less reactive). I seem to over-power the pocket with the new stuff.
I am a 220+ avg bowler THS
Right handed with MED to MED-STRONG revs.
About a 30* axis tilt.
I'd like to find another one of these & drill it a bit softer, for Med lanes.

My arsenal:
Power Torq- Levg.-axis drilling (very controlled)
Mass Chaos- Long and Snappy
Rhino Pro- Levg. a bit longer down the lane with a Snappy back-end reaction.
Swamp Monster- (drilled like my Chaos)For those SLOPPY backends
Pink Hammer- Axis drilling.By far my favorite ball for Med-Drier lanes.
