Columbia 300 is at it again. This time, introducing the Ironman core and wrapping the popular AR-350 Hybrid cover around it. The Mad Antics featured this cover as well!

The layout on my Urge is 70 x 4 x 40, and I've been able to use it in a few different situations to date. My first exposure was in a three person match that lasted six games. Initially, I played up the boards and was very comfortable with this ball. It's extremely clean in the front of the lane and while I don't find it to be overly "snappy" the downlane motion is strong. Later in the match, after having made a ball change, I went back to the Urge, moved left and was able to swing the ball a few boards and succeed. I've also used this ball while practicing on my own (fresh lanes) and been able to play different angles based on ball speed and hand position.

The Urge is not only great looking, but it also packs quite the punch in Columbia 300's Orange Line (Upper-Mid Performance) Collection! Get yourself one today!

WOW! The Urge has become one of my new favorite pieces to throw. Super clean through the front of the lanes and makes an awesome hockey-stick motion on the back end! I never have issues with getting the ten-pin out with this ball, it will hook pretty much anywhere on the lane. I took the polish off of mine just to get it to roll up a touch sooner and the ball motion was even more impressive! Columbia 300 has given us a ball that will be sure to make it back to the pocket and leave the pins begging for mercy!

This is my personal favorite so far this season. This ball is very clean through the fronts. It reminds me of the Pure Swing and Icon2 except much stronger. I tried playing the same line with this ball, Paradox, Severe Delerium, and Swerve. The Severe Delerium was the only ball that had anything left at the pins. And the Urge was unbelievable! As you can see from my specs, I'm a tweeter and I have never owned a ball that corners like this. For as many boards as this ball crosses down lane, it is still a smooth transition. If you can't keep up with the crackers, you need to get this ball so you aren't hung out to dry staying too far right.

The Urge is an A-symmetrical ball with a highly polished aggressive cover stock. The Urge was designed to create an aggressive motion at the breakpoint and backend of the lane.

I drilled mine pin above the middle finger and mass bias in the strong position. With a medium rev rate and medium to high ball speed, this layout allows the ball to get down lane and still take advantage of the strong backend characteristics.

This ball is ideal for medium to high oil volumes and medium to long lane patterns and is noticeably aggressive on the backend continuing through the pins.

I drilled this ball for a very specific ball reaction and am very pleased with how this ball performs for me.

The Urge was a ball I was very excited for. I was looking for a strong factory shined ball that i could get inside with when I feel like there is enough hook to really open up a lane and post some scores. The Urge was a perfect fit for this and I really think there is something to this cover that helps pin carry. I saw the same thing in the Mad Antics (Which is the same cover as the Urge, just shined up on the Urge) The Urge is a must have for anyone who likes skid flip motions and stringing strikes!

Likes: Backend motion, pin carry and great looks!

Likes: I drilled this ball 75x5x40.  My first impressions of this ball on a fresh shot was a lot of over/under.  It seemed to me to be very unforgiving to hand position mishaps at the bottom of the swing.  If I got around it, it sparked and if I missed it at the bottom it went fairly straight.  This ball definitely is a ball, out of box, for later in a set where it can read the mids better for me. I did take the polish off of it and had it had 1500 abralon which was a bit too much, had a hard time carrying.  Brought it up to roughly 3000 and it did great.

Overall this ball is a niche ball for me.  Higher ball speeds will have to drill it strong or wait for the lanes to burn up a bit, change of surface will help also.  I think this will be a great ball for slower speeds that need help with the getting the balls through the heads.

Dislikes: over/under reaction in box finish on a fresh condition.

The Urge is designed to compliment the Delirium and Melt Down with being that go between piece which provides a stronger reaction than the Delirium but less than the Melt Down.

As a senior player, my first reaction to the roll and hitting prowlness of this ball was one used many years ago and that is HEAVY.  For me, this ball hits the pocket like a Sherman Tank with everything going straight back into the pit.  With the polished hybrid cover and the ironman core, the Urge has filled a vacant spot within my arsenal.

I have my Urge set up 50 X 5 X 40 and is more versatile with my rev rate on conditions anything right of the 3rd arrow (I am right-handed) on typical house patterns.  Initially, I have found the Urge can be used on the fresh with little difficulty especially when there is a medium volume of conditioner.  As the lanes breakdown and the push at the back of the pattern increases, the polished cover continues to provide the necessary length to clear the front while the core permits ample finish through the pins.

In being an older bowler, I find that my need to get the ball through the heads is extremely important.  I have little issues doing so with the Urge without the loss of hitting power. This ball will surely be able to fill the any open spot you may have.

Likes: The Urge is a great ball for pretty much any house shot out there. It is by far my favorite to throw and always gives me great ball reaction. With its hybrid cover, the ball still reads the mid lane beautifully while also giving me a flippy motion on the back. It is one of the few pieces I feel like I could throw the whole night at league. As far as bowling on sport with it, it makes for a great compliment for a ball down on longer patterns, and also a great benchmark ball on medium patterns. Get one for yourself and expiernce its versatility!

COMMENTS:
LIKES: AWESOME INLAY NEW LOGO, GREAT COLORS, NEW CORE.
DISLIKES: NONE!
OVERVIEW:
THIS IS THE NEWEST RELEASE IN THE ORANGE LINE. IT COMES WITH THE NEW IRONMAN CORE, AND THE COVER IS THE SAME USED ON MAD ANTICS BUT WITH A FACTORY POLISH. WITH THE CHANGE IN THE CORE NUMBERS THIS BALL IS ABLE TO STORE MORE ENGERY AND HAS A HIGHER FLARE THAN ANY BALL RELEASED TO DATE IN THIS ORANGE LINE. I FOUND IT TO BE VERY CLEAN AND IT COULD PICK UP ON TOP OF THE PATTERN OF NOT OVER REACT TO THE FRICTION. THIS IS ANOTHER BALL THAT I COULD USE A BENCHMARK BALL AND A WHOLE LOT MORE. I REALLY LOVE THIS STRONG CONTINUATION THIS BALL PROVIDES ON THE BACK END. THIS BALL WIL BE MUST USEFULL ON MEDUIN TO LIGHT PATTERNS.

OVERVIEW:
THIS IS THE FIRST COLUMBIA BALL I HAVE THROWN SINCE BEING ON STAFF WITH HAMMER FOR THE LAST 8 YEARS AND WOW! I LOVE HOW THIS BALL REACTS ON THE LANE. IT GIVES ME GOOD LENGTH BUT, WHEN IT GOES TO TURN IT DOES THAT AND DOESN’T STOP.  A GOOD LOOKING BALL FOR SHELF APPEAL AND GOING DOWN THE LANE.  PLAYERS WITH A SIMILAR STYLE OF BOWLING LIKE MINE WILL REALLY LIKE THIS BALL.
