just wondering, if people say these trizact discs last longer than other sanding disc normally used at proshops, are Trizact pads being used and replacing the "red" sanding discs?

I'll be getting two samples from a friend to try out, and trizact having a 5000 grit seems very interesting. My siaair pads I used last weeks doesn't seem to have much left on it. 4 to 6 x used, or maybe less, and these pads are done.

I was wondering if any of you used these trizact pads, how long do they last for you?

One thing about Trizact is that there are 2 basic kinds,one is perfectly flat (that is, no foam backing at all. It's meant to be used with a sanding device). The other one, like this 5000 grit one is foam backed. I have some of the 3" 3000 grit ones; their foam is not as thick as the ones on Siaair or Abralon. I assume the backing on this (relatively) new 5000 grit pad is the same or similar to the one on my 3000s. It is thinner than the ones on Siaair/Abralon pads. You'll see it when you get them.

I use the 3M Trizact sanding discs designed for CAB blocks:

I have an old Lane#1 Super Carbide Bomb that I use the 35 Micron disc to refinish with. The Trizact seems to last significantly longer than Abralon/Siiar pads.

I misplaced my cab blocks from moving storages. I ordered the Innovative contour blocks and they look much lighter than the taxi blocks. I like the feel of the taxi blocks in my hand, but it seems the Innov contour ones fits better with the siaair pads.

It's good to know the trizact disc last longer, too bad there's no 4000 grit which I tend to use most.

They have 1500, 3000, 5000, 6000. I suspect that a firm 3000 15 secs each side and youll get something similar to the light 4000 that you do.
