New Neo-Tac Products: Hook Plus and Glide
« on: October 13, 2013, 03:55:23 PM »
I was just given sample bottles of two new Neo-Tac products to test out. One is labeled Hook Plus, which looks to be a ultra strong version of Hook-It. The other, which is labeled Glide, appears to be similar to Renew-It, with a stronger polishing agent.

I've been able to test out Hook Plus. It seems to clean every bit as effective as Hook-It. The product removes all belt marks, flare rings, oil shine, and other gunk from the ball. I've only used it once, but it doesn't seem to leave any more "Tac" than Hook-It. I'll test it more across different surface types before making any final judgements.

I haven't had the opportunity to test Glide at all. I'm going to apply it on a ball I'm planning to use tomorrow night, so I'll have a better feel for the product then.

Has anyone had the opportunity to use either of these newer Neo-Tac products? I'd welcome any real world related input.

Nice video, and well done. I didn't know about Resurface-It. Thanks for sharing.

Resurface-It seems to overlap Liquid Sandpaper. Same for Hook Plus and Hook-It. In my own testing, the new Glide product seems to put more of a shine on the ball and produce more length than Renew-It, but the products do have some similarity.

It will be interesting to see if the three new products are true additions, or if Neo-Tac starts phasing some of the older stuff out.

Maybe I missed this somewhere and am just too lazy to reread this thread, but are we talking CAMI or FEPA for these grits?

Not sure to whom you are referring.
When I was talking 2000 grit for Renew-it, I was talking FEPA.
I've never heard of 5000 grit CAMI; so I assume when Neo-Tac talks of Glide being 5000 grit, they are talking FEPA (Please be aware that nothing automatically puts 5000 grit on anything.)

"Hook Plus, which looks to be a ultra strong version of Hook-It."

Wow Hook-it could dissolve a vinyl a floor as it was, how much stronger could they make it.

I liked Hook-it I'll have to watch out for that stuff.

I don't think you have to worry about that. I think Hook Plus, if I interpreted the video correctly, is an abrasive like Valentino's Resurrection and like Motv's Gel Scuff.

That's what I thought, thanks.

I got the same thing from the video. But I'm rubbing the Hook Plus pink liquid between my fingers right now, and I have to use my imagination to feel any abrasives. With Resurrection and Gel, the abrasives in the respective liquids are unmistakable. When I used it the other night, it felt like I was using a different formulation of Hook-It. Maybe with repeated use, I'll see a difference.

That's interesting. I agree with you about Resurrection and Gel Scuff.
I don't have my hands on Hook Plus. I got the impression FROM THE VIDEO that it roughens the surface texture. I ASSUMED it was from abrasives in it like the other two.

BEFORE VIEWING THAT VIDEO, just from the name I thought it was an advanced formulation of Hook-It or their version of Clean & Dull.

Please let us know what happens to balls - how it changes their reaction - when this stuff is used on them.

I've used Hook Plus a few more times. The product does have a small amount of abrasives. It's essentially a "lite" version of your favorite liquid sandpaper product mixed with a very good cleaner.

It's a niche product.
