Surface for old wood lanes

The house that I bowl on is old wood, and to that, it's sport shots being layed down.  I have a very inconsistant read with just about everything I try, and being that I just got an Innovative Ball Spinner, been trying to play around with surface.

For those that have success on old wood + sport shots, what is the best surface that you put on your ball?  I'm a stroker, about 14mph, medium revs. 

Just looking for things to try, thanks. 8)

Wood is soft, so too dull a surface and it doesn't hit, while shiny can be super aggressive on the back end.  I'd try something around 2000 and adjust as necessary.

Thanks for the info notclay.   I struggled all night last night.  Everything went brooklyn and I couldn't figure the pattern out.  The house will not tell us the pattern. 
I did have a Lights Out at 2000, a 2000 polished Benchmark, a 4000 Bandit, and a 4000 Grenade.  Had "one of those nights" shooting a whopping 400.

i was on old wood for many years, with very little volume to boot
what worked best for me was longer pin-pap layouts, symmetrical pieces and typically 4000 dull, just enough to get polish off the ball to reduce over/under reaction.
Also, you can try "delayed reactionm" by Track.
It reduced overall ball motion by approx 25% and id not cause it to over-react at all.
but i only used this because there was so little volume

I think I have some extender polish.  What kind of grit should I put it over?  2000 + extender or should I try it at 4000 + extender?

You will have to try both.
Try 2000 + polish and then add the extended polish if that doesn't work.
Going to 4000 won't be a huge difference,  but might cause a little over under.
