Hook Juice Home Edition $50!!!!! Seems abit pricey
« on: November 29, 2017, 09:34:13 AM »
Has anybody ponied up $50 and tried Hook Juice Home Edition yet

https://ctdbowling.com/products/hook-juice-home-edition?variant=1042845401115

$50 for one treatment and you do it every 50 games. That bucket you mix up better do a bunch of balls.

The posts about this stuff really are confusing. Someone needs to coordinate the marketing materials.

Rons FB post says:
"Improve the backend performance of your bowling ball for 50 plus games."

But the very next day they say:
"Need more backend hook permanently? Try This"

So the backend lasts how long? 50 games or is it a permanent increase?

Then you got this:
"Hook Juice is a permanent enhancement in backend reaction and is only done every 50 games"

It's contradicting itself.

If it's a permanent enhancement, why do you have to do it again 50 games later? .

Then theres these ads

the first one says 2-8oz bottles is one treatment, (Thats 16oz for one shot)
(plus it looks like it says something about 24hours cant make it out)

but a few days later its one 32oz bottle does one treatment.

Poster about the Juice:
"The hot water and soap helps get the oil out of the cover stock"

Ronald Hickland::
"There is no soap in this product. Soap is actually bad for your ball."

Poster:
"Why is soap bad for your ball?"

Ronald Hickland:
" That slippery feeling you get from dish soap can be absorbed by the bowling ball and impede oil absorption. Soap is great for cleaning dishes not so great for bowling ball performance."

That slippery feeling you get from dish soap.....................................

All the years people have been soaking balls in soapy water and nobody has mentioned this before???

Darn whats Ron been smoking??? or is it the fumes from that purple stuff?

I used it and it works. My ball (snap lock) was almost dead. Instead of spending another 150 -200 bucks on a new ball, i tried this. It works...make all the jokes you want youre the ones missing out.

So you ponied up $50 for it?

It may well work, But let's face it. It's $50 for just a de-oiling bath that only does one ball and you have to do every 50 games.

$50 depending on where your at, can get a detox and a resurface, with change left over.

The marketing seems suspect too.

The org. HJ Home Ed. product starts out, being sold as 2 -8oz. bottles saying 16oz. will just do one ball.

Then a short time later it changes to 1- 32oz. bottle that says 32oz. will just do one ball.

I'm guessing what happen here was someone in marketing looked said well $50 for 16oz. will sound like too much for too little, so they upped the bottle size and changed the instructions to still get you to use it all so you had to come back and buy more.

The 32oz bottle probably actually will do at least two balls if you used the org. instructions. (And most likely more than that)

Here's the Original demo video for Hook Juice(Non home version) from a year ago.

You got to wonder though, which had more influence on cleaning the ball the Juice or that Jayhawk Detox machine it was cooking in?

All kidding aside, The Hook Juice may well work just fine.

But it does seem very over priced for what it does and how few balls it's good for. I mean a quart per ball?

If that quart bottle had been a concentrate for $50 and you used only a ounce per ball, that would get the price per ball cleaning down to $1.56. That would be a bit more reasonable.

or

If they had come up with say a Kool-aid size package of chemicals for $1.99, that you could mix in a bucket of hot water that did the same thing for one ball (Removed oil and made it feel tacky) and it worked.

They probably couldn't make it fast enough to keep it on the shelf.

But $50 bottles are not going to be moving that fast

Well if you say so..... ??? I'll keep my $50...
Heat is proven to get oil out of a ball, what does the HOOK JUICE actually do to improve this process that makes it worth $50 for one ball?
Let's again say it HOOK JUICE! C'mon man it's HOOK JUICE!!

Been using remedy X and clean and dull for many years.. I have balls with over 50 games.. (currently it’s my rave) they still hook.. and when the house does things to the pattern and/or lane surface..I get too much hook on my 4 to 6 year old balls..

This is the reason I don’t buy the purple rain and gin and juice...

As someone that probably has 200 games or more on a ball that I brought at the start of summer, this stuff would break me. Why would I spend more than the cost of the ball to keep rejuvenating it when I can hand a friend a $10 bill to put it in his homemade ball over when it starts to stop feeling tacky when I clean it?

Its not just a cleaner or de oiler. It changes the properties of the ball to make it perform better. Im not a chemist, Ive detoxed balls before and see the differences. It will improve a new ball also, not just one thats oiled up. Seems like everyone likes to bash a new idea or concept without trying it. I'm not saying to go out and spend money on it, but to knock it down without trying it seems very amateurish. I used it, I like it, thats all I can say.

If it really does change the properties, then wouldn't it be illegal to use?  Aren't the bowling balls approved by USBC as is, and any changes to those properties would mean it was a different ball and would have to be approved?

You are not chemist? Are you are materials engineer? A scientist of any discipline? It is mixed with water and it magically changes the properties of the ball? How? What is it changing? What is the need for the warm water? Please tell me what is in this magical HOOK JUICE?  ::) If it indeed does change the properties of the ball say like how Acetone does it would be illegal. My guess is you work with or are the snake oil salesmen in the video but that is a guess I can't prove it... Sort of like how you can't prove the HOOK JUICE does anything. :P
But C'mon Man it's HOOK JUICE :o :o :o
Lets All say it again HOOK JUICE  :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
