Drilling Long Pin S75
« on: December 29, 2008, 02:53:03 AM »
Hello all, I am picking up a Global S75 in a trade deal and am looking for drilling suggestions. Specs on the ball are 4.5" pin 2.5oz top and cg is approx 1.5" out of line to the left. I am a right handed stroker with 14 to 15mph ball speed and average revs. I am also a high tracker which eliminates drilling pin under fingers. This ball will be replacing a No Mercy Beatn in my line up which is drilled with the number 1 drilling. Looking to get the most out of this ball on the backend. Any suggestions appreciated. Sorry I can't remember my pap off the top of my head.

very strong ball, and versatile with cover changes.  ive had it at 4000 with polish, and it had great legnth and jerked left in the backend.  i liked the 1000 abralon its at now, nice strong roll to it.  only problem is, its only good for one game than i have to bag it.

Cooksey,

Let me check on one I drilled up that had a long pin on it..

Drilled it up for a good friend and it is a monster ball...still will roll early but still has a great back end on it with the OOB.

Thanks Mike. Appreciate the help. I won't have the ball in hand until Friday so let me know. Gunny the pic looks something similar to what I had in mind so I appreciate the feed back.

I meant to reply earlier to this, just got recovered from new years activities.

We ended up laying this out Dual Angle with a 45 x 45. That put the pin to pap at about 4 - 4 1/2" if I remember correctly. The mb was ~ 1 inch from the thumb, possibly less. We also put a hole in P4 (31/32, about ~2" deep).

When I purchased it, it had ~3 1/2 oz top and a 4.5" pin with the pin,cg, & mb in line.

All I can say is that this is an impressive ball! I honestly love it and yes it performs magnificently on the pba sport patterns, at least the chameleon and shark (only patterns that I have had a chance to bowl on with it). The thing I love about it is its carry and how it keeps the pins super low. Also, the forgiveness of it if I miss right it has great recovery.

On a THS you might see 1 game out of of this ball. This wasn't my primary purpose for this ball. It gives me earlier roll with an aggressive left turn at the break point.

Hope this helps! Good luck and I know you will absolutely love this ball.
