Best Drilling for strongest finish skid/snap
« on: July 22, 2016, 02:42:07 PM »
What would be the drilling to get this kind of finish on most balls. I have been told pin inch right of ring Cg in palm, I've never had a drilling like this before. I hope to get some ideas from you guys on here. I am a stroker not a lot of revs and normally play down and in that has been my best shot over many years. Hope you can help thanks for any replies.

That's my favorite ball reaction, and here is the best layout I've found for it. It sounds like this is what was recommended for you, but the location of the pin is dependent on your PAP. Unless things have changed, it's recommended for symmetrical balls only.
Start without the weight hole and see if you like the backend reaction, you can then add the weight hole if needed.

Your reply must have been in the stars lol while I was waiting for a reply I was looking at what you just posted ( The motion Hole) and it looks a great idea. All I want is that little extra strong finish on the ball. I take it you have had some good success with this drilling Thanks a lot for your reply. tomorrow I am getting a new ball and getting two replugged   and was wondering what drilling I can get to help me get a bit more out of them. thanks again

You need to look more at core numbers than layouts.  You need a ball that has a higher differential yet weak enough to stay to the outside.  A ball like a Cyclone will be your best bet.  Those balls tend to be quite "flippy" on the backend and yet can be used playing outside and in the track area on the lane (second arrow).

The difference between pin above your ring and pin beside your ring you wont notice a difference in terms of more or less snappy.  Just drill a ball that is designed for the reaction you want.  If your speed matches your revs; you can do a Cyclone.  If your are a speed dominate; lean more toward a Snap Lock.

Thanks for that Twohands my speed about 15 not a lot of revs and I have a very high track about half inch from the fingers like a bowtie. I just cant stand left as I don't get it to the pocket without any authority and drive so play outside all the time.

It sounds like your release is low revs and low tilt. Maybe also low rotation angle - do you stay behind it with your hand or come off the side?  All of these release specs make a big difference in what reaction any ball will be capable of.  A stroker type release can't really play inside to out and have enough energy to get back to the pocket strong.

Thanks for that Todvan your description is about right, even though I ave about 210 and have done for the past 25yrs I struggle with the heavier conditions even with the balls I have for those conditions.
