Grip question
« on: November 14, 2017, 01:24:16 AM »
When you get fitted and drill a bal is the pam of ur hand supposed to lie flat against the ball with your fingers inserted?  I have been bowling for a long time and had a ton of balls but never have i been able to rest the ball in the palm of my hand, the right side of my hand always has a space between the ball.  I   recently change drillers and the ball came out the same way. Granted he didn't do his own measurements but he thought the layout was fine.

The short answer is no.  There has to be room to account for the finger joints to bend, so generally, your palm will "seemingly" have extra room.

Span test:
Put the ball on a ball cup, then insert your thumb all the way into it's hole and lay the fingers across the finger holes.  The crease (joint) should hit about 1/2 way over the finger holes.

The ball should rest on the base of your index finger, not the meat of your palm unless you do something like no thumb or only partially insert your thumb.

Have always been told you should be able to slide a pencil between your palm and the ball.
