Opinions on the "conventional" grip?
« on: February 20, 2011, 05:43:51 AM »
I'm a higher rev bowler, rev dominant bowler. Because of this, most reactive balls tend to be "over/under" a lot for me.

I've been considering drilling a ball with a "conventional" grip to help reduce the rotation and make the ball more controllable and predictable.

Have any of you guys tried anything like this and, if so, what were your results?

"Yeah, I throw AMF. What's it to ya"?

Jugger...    You might can make it work.    In an effort to play dryer lanes I did some work on this.

#1      finger holes need to be oversize, pitched under(toward the palm)

#2      Need reverse in the thumb

#3     I wound up with fingers and thumb really teardropped(like the old days) and span stretched a bit.    The teardropping of the holes plus the extra size on fingers, plus the reverse on thumb will let you clear.

Just as a warning......I set up conventional fingers for a "no thumber", and he upped his revs.
