mo pinnel double thumb question

i want to test the double thumb layout on a bowling ball, but im still confused on how to do it. if their were a video of how to do it, id love to try it, but i dont want to mess up the double thumb and have the ball be crap. i have a fairly good understanding of dual angle layouts, but cant seem to understand how to find that first angle, ive been to many different websites trying to understand it and still cant do it, any help would be appreciated in advance...if it helps, my pap is 4 13/16 horizontal and 1 1/8 vertical

The first angle (drill angle) is created by connecting the line through the pin&psa with a line from the pap to pin. The angle created is the drill angle

wouldnt it be different from ball to ball though if your looking at a predrilled ball?

You cannot just add a Double Thumb to a pre-drilled ball and expect it to react as it is intended.

thats what i figured, thats y im trying to figure out how to determine that first angle, on all the info i c on how to do double thumb, it says take a prexisting ball

30° is the Val w/4" pin to pap. Mark the pretend PSA 1/2" right (if you're rh)from the thumb hole. Draw a line connecting the pretend pin to the pretend PSA. That is your drill angle.

Remember to target balls with a 4-6" pin and low top weight before drilling. Especially with you're vertical pap coordinates.

got a 3.25 inch pin on one of my balls, and i forget what the top weight is on it, dont have the box by it, if that dosnt work, i'll find one with a 4-6 inch pin to test it on, when drilling, should i drill the fingers shallow to put more weight on top, or deep to lessen it?

I would go 2" to start. Depends where the weight is before drilling. You want thumb weight so that you can put in the balance hole. So if you have finger weight before drilling (depending how much there is) you'll want to drill the fingers deeper. The best bet is to have a longer pin and 1-2oz of top weight. The longer pin should have the CG landing on or below the midline.

my next ball i'll request a long pin, as for this ball, it's a spike xout(color mismatch) i figured hey it only cost me $45 y not give it a shot haha
