Oval thumb holes in Vise system

Can you have an oval thumb hole in the Vise interchangable thumb holes?  Do oval thumb holes take time to get used to?  If you're having problems hanging in the ball is this a good option?

I changed over to the IT system at the end of last year. I have always used a oval thumb insert and had Buddies Pro Shop change all my equipment over and also created 2 IT thumbs with an oval thumb insert and I couldn't be happier.
