Grudge Hybrid Updates?

Alright, similar to the Trilogy thread I started in the Track forum I'm wondering how this ball is still working for those that have it. Although this one has really moved up my list because the pro shop I go to just put it on their clearance rack. Like I've said elsewhere I'm looking for a Mastermind Intellect replacement. Basically a ball that can handle a good bit of oil but is still really strong off the spot/on the backend.

I don't think I've even seen a Grudge Hybrid on the racks here (hence why it's on the clearance rack so soon) but the online videos have been a mixed bag. I know Lane Side really likes it, but the bowlingball.com video and another one made it seem less than impressive. I'm not a fan of relying solely on those types of videos at all though (Lane Side does a great job with commentary though) so any more info here would be great. Might be better to compare the Grudge Hybrid and Mastermind Intellect here too since both are from the Big B family.

AS you are aware, the Intellect was a solid cover and this is a hybrid cover. With that being said, this ball reads the Mid-lane extremely well just like the Intellect, but will give you pop in the back, cover a few more boards. I put a little polish on my Grudge Hybrid (325 Rev Rate, Left Handed, 16.5 mph) and like that it reads the end of the pattern a bit harder. This is a steal as a clearance ball. you will not be disappointed.

Just to throw this out there, for me, the Mastermind Strategy is closer to the Intellect than it was the original Mastermind. My original was very early and rolly. The Intellect (at box finish) was very clean up front, and it went nuts on the back. It was one of the best carrydown balls I've ever had. The Strategy (at box finish) is very similar for me. So, if you're looking for an Intellect replacement, do some looking into the Strategy as well.

As it turns out the deal on the Grudge Hybrid was just too good to ignore. Picked it up last night and decided it would be a good league night to try it out on. I had to start about 8 boards left with it. Definitely more ball and a bit smoother than the Intellect. But the Hybrid is still fairly clean up front for such a strong ball and really comes hard off the end of the pattern.

I only had to move a couple more boards left as the night wore on since I was well inside of everybody else on the lanes. Was expecting the Hybrid to start burning up at some point but nope. It just kept barreling through the pocket. Only one night and three games thus far but I couldn't be happier.

Used it again tonight and just wow. Wow wow wow. So strong off the spot, I might have to rethink my stance on it being a bit smoother than the Intellect. And that's with a tad more surface at box (500/4000 sanded vs 500/royal compound).

It's been my go to ball. The Grudge line is really good. Actually, the whole catalog of balls from DV8 have been stellar.
