My Trial Run with the Mission
« on: February 11, 2010, 12:02:28 PM »
Tonight, I got a chance to try out the Mission because I was debating on getting that or the 920A. The ball I threw had the pin about an inch above the ring finger and the MB about 2" right of the thumbhole. This Mission is just very powerful on the backend when I threw it inside starting around the 18 board. Was able to get it as far as the 5 board at breakpoint and makes a continuous motion in the pocket just like Ebonite explained. Even missing my mark by about 3-5 boards the ball has plenty of room for error. The Mission was able to cover boards that my Evolve couldn't quite do at 2000 grit. I've been missing a ball like this in my bag since my Power Swing and Power Machine. The pro shop's going to punch me up one tomorrow and just in time for me to use it for city tournament on Saturday so I'll let you guys know how it goes with a pic of the layout.

Got mine drilled up for the city tournament yesterday with the pin up above the ring finger and added some light polish to the surface. First 5 frames my NVD was coming up very heavy in the pocket and didn't get a good reaction from it. Decided to switch to the Mission and play it directly up the 12 board to get it to go cleaner on the front part of the lane. It doesn't have a skip/flip reaction but it's pretty close with alot of backend. What's even better about it was that once I moved more inside the ball adjusted very well to the angle of my approach and hand position. Though in the third game the Mission had a little trouble carrying the lonely 10 pin, I would say overall I was extremely consistent with it throughout the rest of the day. This ball looks to be very promising expecially if Ebonite decides to continue with this line. Here's a pic of my Mission:
