Tommy Jones Throws Complete Game | Verdict Pin-Up Layout

This Keeping it Real complete game format ball demo, is pretty good.

No blaring loud music (through the whole thing), they shoot a complete game and tells at least a little about how he adjusts with the ball.

Wow.. Tommy made a 5 and 3 move in one game with that ball. That is strong, seeing that he was starting at around 22 at the arrows out to about 8 for the break point and back. He ended the game around 27 at the arrows to around 13 at the break point.

I do like the colors; reminds me of a deeper TPC Warrior color wise.

It looks way straighter through the front than the Mavericks and Warriors. Those balls flared 4-5" before 30 feet. These types of reviews are just enough to figure out what a ball is capable of. For the heavy handed guys that need an option in higher volumes that will still hook on the back, this ball looks good.

I just saw that. Makes me wonder if neither video was done on the fresh, because he was inside to begin with. Either way, I do like this format.

True..

I also watched another review.. I believe it was Average Joe Reviews, in which stated that this ball slots between the Warrior and the Maverick. For as strong as that ball is, I'm wondering why this wouldn't be above the Maverick.

As much as I like it, I probably won't get it, as I'm already strong on the high end with the Maverick, and wouldn't need another hybrid between my Maverick and Scandal. I may go strong layout BW Gold and slot that between the two, if not above the Scandal Pearl. So many options with these two.

Not surprised at all to see a dull high end ball rip up the oil in that building.  For those that aren't from around South Carolina...Golden Lanes in Simponsville is TJ's home house where the video was filmed from.  Anyone that has bowled there knows that surface is an old synthetic and the track hooks out the wazoo.  I'm sure it was fresh oil and being able to throw anything strong there and still get it to hit just shows how good the ball really is. Typically you will get early burn and weak 10s with the stronger stuff and midline balls like the hyroad, phenom pearl, kinetic emerald, daredevil etc look a lot better.  I've bowled many tournaments there and it's always in front of the ball return at the end of the block unless a 35 ft or shorter pattern was used.

I drilled mine this week and just want to say the ball is really really good. I was big fan of both mavericks but to me the paradox balls were a touch better overall.  This one is different at least in my early experience.  Reminds me of the paradox just a little smoother and hits great.  The stuff Ebonite has been putting out the last 2 years have been getting better and better. Super excited about this one.

This would be nice of other reviewers to also formulate this type of video on their videos as well...

I agree because we all know videos can be edited so it was good to see a full game with no editing to even show that yes he makes mistakes too but even with the opening still wasn't a bad game considering

This was good to watch because Tommy throws it so well, and that it wasn't edited.

This next part is not to criticize this video, but isn't it ironic that Tommy uses the same type description of the ball motion that many others have used, and get flamed on this site?

He used these phrases: "Consistent through the front part of the lane... Nice mid-lane ball reaction... Good back-end reaction to keep it going through the pins... Shelf appeal... Likes how it keeps the pins low... New cover technology...  The ball just keeps going, move left and it keeps moving around the corner..."

My point is this: How many ways can one actually describe good ball motion, especially when thrown on a house shot?  There are are only 60 feet and 39 boards to work with in about a 2-3 second window of watching.  We all want those qualities in our equipment.

Nice job Mr. Jones, and maybe we all can cut one another a little slack as we try to post reviews, as we see them, with all this excellent equipment he have access to.

One other observation on my part.  It seems to me that those to criticize reviews the most are people who don't post any reviews of their own; they just "heckle from the balcony", so to speak.

I have friends on Ebonite staff who will surely enjoy this ball.  Good luck to all of us this season.

Respectfully though on counterpoint.... We all know that each new ball release includes a review of "this fixes the problem with the previous ball where....." So of course we all get tired of hearing the same positive phrases over and over. You're missing the point. It's not that there are only so many ways to describe the ball. It is equally and even more important to note in each review what the ball DOESN'T do. If I hear that, then, personally, I'm fine with whatever they say. But there is no ball that doesn't have characteristics where it should not be used... As long as it's balanced then perhaps we can have more faith in what is said. Seeing a great pro like Tommy Jones throw a complete game .... I don't know... I'd rather see Joe Hack throw a complete game personally. Maybe that
s just because Joe Hack's game is so much like mine... :)

Lefty50,

Agreed that all reviews can be better, but what one guy wants to hear can differ from the next, and yes, 99% of the pros throw it waaaay better than we do.  Good points.
