Where is my ovrelap in my Ebonite arsenal?
« on: May 08, 2003, 11:26:55 PM »
Shooter,
Adrenaline,
V2 Particle (2)
V2 Solid
Illusoin
Warrior
Stinger Low Flare (green)
Trimax Matrix II
Vortex 1 (Green and purple)
Apex
Apex Aggression
Maxium
Low Torque
Tombstone

I want to make an arsenal out of these balls but I don't know if I'm missing something.  Any help would be appreciated.

V/R,

Being very familiar with Ebonite myself and since I believe you said you didn't have a very high revrate I would go with these 6

Aggression(For the longest and heavier patterns)
V2 Particle(whichever is the weaker one, to get through the heads, rev midlane and cut through carrydown)
Shooter(For your medium house shots where there is dry right)
Warrior(For the above instance when the shot breaks down with the shooter, you can move directly to the warrior)
Illusion(For longer light-Medium patterns, something more controllable than the Warrior.  Can be the read ball)
Stinger Low Flare(Shorter conditions, or spotty broken down lanes where control over the breakpoint is needed most.)

DP3-

I agree exept for the stinger low flare. Only concern I have on that ball is using it on DRY anything. I have one and, it is most certainly not for very dry conditions. When mine finds dry boards it's "left turn Clyde"! Bought this ball for my "dry lane ball" - NOT! Love the ball but it didnt work for the dry conditions I encounter. High series past season in the house I bowl are 3 816's one of which was bowled by a lady using a Stinger Low flare ball!

If i remember you stated you are a spinner or have a low track. If so for me to judge I would go.

Oil:
Tombstone- hooks early and heavy particle load but might match a spinner type release.
V2 particle- slight polish or Apex sheen
v2 solid or shooter- low trackers tend to love the solid but have heard good things on the shooter
Illusion-drilled label for control
Trimax I- drilled weak or longer pin axis
Maxim- straight and hard baby!!

For low trackers for most tourny conditions we see we promote LOW RG for stability, but it all depends on amount of oil you boys see out there.

BT, I agree the Lowflare is aggressive but controllable and very even.  The fist one I have is drilled 4 1/2 x 2 and the second is 6 x 4 1/2, but remember Nicanor said he had a lower rev-rate with a lower track which will automatically get the ball down the lane and since the flare potential is very low it can handle the drier track without an overreaction.

Thank you for the input.  My rev rate is about 300 and my axis tilt is about 23 and though I'm not a spinner, I track fairly low.

The Aggression I have had no luck with and just traded for an Addiction.  Maybe I kicked the MB to far to the right on the Agression.

I agree that low trackers usually like more surface on their bowling balls like the V2 particle, Shooter Adrenaline and the like.  But I like the answer that helped me list the agrressivenes of the bowling balls.  The Warroir I thought it was for more oil then I think it is.  It seems to work on med/light oil.  The Illusion is a ball that works well for me on short oil and the Stinger Low flare works well in light oil with some head oil.

Thans for the feedback.
