Xtra Breaker
« on: July 31, 2014, 11:44:09 PM »
Hmm saw this pop up on the approved ball list for Jul 14.

Anyone know if this is the new mid level ball or if an international release? If it is for the US, this ball will be super popular in my area. I know a few guys with 3 or more of the original and remake Game breaker.

Saw this picture on both the USBC site and crazybowl.com   Based on the size of the label, it looks like an international ball. Hopefully it isn't. Be it GB 2.0, xtra breaker or whatever, this ball with even a 2.46 RG would fit that currently empty mid-price slot for Ebonite just fine.

I saw a different picture that surfaced on Facebook that says Gamebreaker 2.  The RG cannot be 2.46 on this ball.  My guess is that they went stronger coverstock than the Gamebreaker with an RG slightly higher than the GB.  Could be wrong.  But cant see it being any other way.

the info i have is that the original was 2.45 and .051 diff (15lb)
2000 dull

this one has to be different because of a USBC rule change? right?

That is correct.  Rumor had it that Hickland was trying to create a ball with a motion similar to the Gamebreaker that would meet the new USBC standards.  But a simple core change would not roll to his liking.  Apparently they must have found the right formula and got the ball motion exactly where they want it.  Should be interesting to watch it go down the lane and see how close it is to the original GB.

JUST CHECKED THE EBONITE SITE AND THEY HAVE THE GAMEBREAKER 2 SHOWN FOR RELEASE. GAMEBREAKER 10.7 COVER WITH A MODIFIED V2 CORE. NO VIDEO TO SEE WHAT IT ROLLS LIKE BUT THE NUMBERS ARE CLOSE TO THE GAMEBREAKER.

The Honor has a great color combo, but I don't think I can pass up the GB2

If I could get both for the price of one, I would definitely do that

Man that was tough to hold in. Glad the public now knows that they have finally been able to replicate the Gamebreaker with the new USBC standards. Trust me on this one, the GB2 is identical to the original. Get ready because this one will be needed in everyone's bag!!!
