I've got the opportunity to get an Elite ball at a decent discount-at least to the point where it would cost about the same as most other equipment. I was looking at the Eclipse. Am I right in that the coverstock is essentially the Activator Plus?

That response is as clear as mud. Compare the testimonials from the eight or nine satisfied Elite equipment purchasers against the thousand of thrilled customers with an Absolute Inferno, Vapor Zone, or Morich Shock & Awe.

I didn't expect much. The _only_ reason I'm getting the ball is because after the discount, it's consting me the same as any other ball would. I'm not expecting much, but if I can make it work it should be worth it. If not, I can sell it and at least get some of my money back. Yeah, it's more of a risk that almost any other ball I would get, but it's not like I'm really missing anything in my arsenal, at least that's what my thoughts are. This is more of a wanting to try something diffent and see what happens.

Are you really trying something different by buying Elite?

I'm gonna agree with 230, 1000 satisfied Brunswick fans mean a lot more to me than a dozen Elite fans who simply can't believe how much better Elite products are than the Brunswick products they're sourced from.

If you want to try something new, try Dynothane while you still can. The Soaker coverstock is fantastic. Won't be much of a risk, tekneek usually has some pretty good deals, and you won't look like a wiener for being proud of getting the price of a Brunswick ball down to the price of a Brunswick ball.

I did not go into this blind. You're also assuming I give a rat's @$$ what others think, espically people I don't really know. Well I guess I do a little since I'm taking the time to respond, but I won't lose any sleep over any of this.

Back to the point-I guess it's not something totally different either. The core of the Eclipse is the same as my Bruiser, combine that with the Activator Plus coverstock, there's great potential for that ball. I know I'm going to catch some heat here and actually more imporantly at the centers I bowl in. Like I said, if reacts anything like I expect it too, I'll be happy.

I don't care about customer reviews or number of satisfied bowlers compared to others. Granted, they can help, but really not that much. Just because a ball works for somebody else, doesn't mean it's going to work for me. I'd rather see the ball in action in person before I buy it. That said, I don't know _anybody_ who throws Elite. Everybody I know, that I trust their opinion of, isn't willing to pay Elite's retail for what it is, recycled Brunswick technology. Yet they don't deny the technology is there and the equipment is good. And unless I'm mistaken, Brunswick did not/does not produce a ball with the Quantum core and Activitor Plus coverstock which is why I'm getting this ball. I don't expect I'll be an Elite convert or anything, not unless they drop the price of their equipment. I know they can since I somehow got this discount card and I haven't even purchaced any of their products.

That's precisely my feelings on Elite. With their pedigree, they've got to be pretty good balls. I won't pay for them.

If the ball is that bad, it won't really matter what you say about it when it's a realy bad ball. It's poor performance will speak for itself through the poor performance.

In my opinion, there aren't any balls available today that are that bad. Those balls are typically called "developmental" and don't make it to production in the first place.
